If you won the lottery, would you continue working?

before DD, i would have said yes and but now that she's here, i would just do the fun part of my job (photographing people!) and outsource the rest. and i would only do it for people i liked and in the way i wanted to do it!

I would continue working, part-time. Or go to grad school.

I'd continue working but not at my current job

I would have to do *something*, so I would probably open a coffeeshop/bookstore and 'work' there.
It would be so much fun because I wouldn't be worried about profits, just breaking even so I'm not losing my amazing new lottery wealth.

Yup, I love what I do, though I would probably work even less hours than I do already.

Nope! I would pursue something I love on an extremely part time basis.

I would get a job that I could do something fun (arranging flowers? Working at PaperSource?) Volunteer or something that probably wouldn't cover the cost of childcare but was only part time so I could spend time with LO too.

I would for a while, so that no one would know haha! Other than paying off my student loans and a few personal splurges, I would try not to change anything major in my life right away. But after enough time had passed and all the money was squared away, then I'd quit.

I would probably volunteer. I would need some structure to my days/weeks.

Hell no. It would be nice to volunteer though.

Oh, I love thinking about all the things I would do with lottery winnings! I'd probably start my own catering company with my mom - she's a terrific cook!

@Mrs. Bee: I would pay off my debts (mostly student loans), and then split the remaining money between continuing my own education (master's degree) and adding to my daughter's college fund. I don't currently work, but even if I won the lottery I would like to go back to work again some day!

Probably, but probably not at my current job. I think I'd like to invest in some small businesses, just mayhaps not open my own.

D would want to keep working at his job, though. He loves it!

I SAH now and probably will for a bit longer but I think once I was ready to return to work I'd want a career change and just to work part-time.

No but I would love to open a business geared towards kids like a sport/recreation facility or help low income children become involved in activities.

Not doing what I currently do. I would focus on school and raising a family until I graduated then I would probably work part time just for the mental exercise.

If the lottery was big enough for both my SO and I to retire on, I would absolutely not work, but I'd volunteer my time at animal shelters and that sort of thing. If it was a smaller win, I'd assume we'd both cut our hours down to PT.

yes- but first I'd probably get my PhD. and then I would just take a few private practice clients, and do some consulting/assessment stuff. Probably less than 15 hours a week, spread out over a few days of this actual paid work.

I'd love to offer my services (therapist) for free at places like the women's rape crisis center, and domestic violence shelter.

I love my work, I'm passionate about it and it makes me feel excited and intellectually stimulated. I like being really good at something. I would definitely do a LOT less of it than I have in the past though!

Not a corporate job. I'd go back to school and get a PhD.
