...did this continue once they were born (as in "having their days and nights mixed up")?
Unfortunately, the last couple of nights I've been awake every couple of hours throughout the night...and I've noticed this kid is a wild child! 
Not sure if it makes any difference, but I'm currently 32+ weeks.

Both of my boys were very active at night during pregnancy. My husband and I always said that was baby daddy time because he would be awake and feel them but I was out cold. 
But they both slept well at night from early on.

Actually, no! He would be active in the evenings but he is usually asleep by 9 every night!

I read yesterday that babies are more active when you're resting because your movements during the day rock them to sleep. I hope that's true because my LO only kicks me in the morning and late at night usually!

@shellio: DH and I have thought that was pretty neat as well. The rest of the time it's much harder for him to "catch" him wiggling...and he worries the baby is hiding from him! And that's very good news!

@Mrs. Pickle: I had read that too and it makes a lot of sense! I was just starting to wonder about these extended 3 a.m. dance parties!

Yes, ugh! LO was an all-night rocker while in the womb, and totally had her days/nights mixed up once born. Slept all day, up all night - like I gave birth to a teenager or something!

@FliegepilzHut: It took a few weeks to get her straightened out, but she started STTN pretty early on too, so no lasting "damage"!

I worked overnight while pregnant and was only ever active extremely active after 3am, or during fire alarms. While she hasn't slept through the night yet she got her days and nights figured out pretty quick.

Nope, she learned that nighttime was for sleeping pretty quickly!

No!! My son kept me up at nights in utero but when he was here he adjusted to sleeping pretty fast!!

Mine was super active in utero. she had sleeping issues and is active to this day.

At first, yes. In the first couple of weeks she was most active between 11:00pm or so and 3:00am.

Interesting! It really sounds like this could go either way...but that newborns are also fairly adaptable.

Nope, he never had his days and nights confused. I think it was just something about me laying down that kinda woke him up.

My baby was always active at night in utero. Once born she was a great sleeper. Yes, she was up every 2-3 hours, but that's normal!
