...was your second child the same way?
My DS is 21 months and is 100% a daddy's boy and always has been. I'm pregnant with baby #2 and having another boy, and all I can think about is how I'll have two boys on team daddy and feel left out all the time. 
I know this is just the hormones talking, but I think about it a lot now. I love how DS has such a tight bond with DH but I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish for a momma's boy sometimes!

I have an almost 3 yr old daddy's boy and the baby is still too young (3 months) to call. He prefers me because I am the primAry caregiver but I'm hoping he stays on team mommy. I had the same exact feelings you did when I found out I was having another boy

My 2.5 year old is a total daddy's boy. My almost one year old son is a mama's boy, but he has recently realized daddy is much more fun at rough housing. We'll see how it changes as he gets older b

@Mrs. Confetti: I remember reading your blog about how your son preferred your husband and I feel like I could have written your exact post! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one! I do have to admit, it's sweet that he idolizes his daddy so much, but lately it hurts because he doesn't even want me to put his shoes on if DH is in the room.

@Mamasig: pretty much the same here. My son is 3.5 and has always been a daddy's boy. I was excited because my 1 year seems to prefer me but now that he is more mobile he's noticing how much fun big brother and daddy have and he grunts and points to go to my husband. Dang boys!

@Canoli: as of now, I'm still #1, but I expect to be dumped for big brother and daddy sometime soon! Baby brother's attempt at a 1st word is not mama or dada but Gab for his brother Gabe. I joke that I guess I'll be thankful when I have free time when they're older.

My son is a total mommas boy. Our daughter is too young at 7 weeks but a close friend of mines daughter has total daddy preference even though she is a girl. She loves men in general. She always has and she is 19 months old. I think each person is different. You could definitely get a mommas boy this time. Is this your last baby?

@MrsMccarthy: Yep, last baby! Really hoping for a momma's boy this time! If this baby ends up having an extreme preference for DH like my son does, I'm going to think something is wrong with me.. LOL

Unfortunately both my sons are daddy's boys (3.5 yrs and 17 mos). The older one has recently started to ask for me instead of Dada sometimes and say he doesn't want me to go to work. Which is nice to hear. DH is their primary caregiver so I understand and don't get upset about it.

I'm sure nothings wrong with you. Do you happen to be the primary disciplinarian or something along those lines? We realize that my sons preference was probably enhanced by the fact that I'm kind of a soft touch and he's not. So he worked on softening himself and I brc disciplinarian or something along those lines? Who knows the new baby could make your firstborn become more territorial of mama!

@shellio: Aw bummer! But definitely makes sense if dad is the primary caregiver! That's sweet that your older son asks for you now
@MrsMccarthy: I'm the main disicipline parent only because I'm the primary caregiver and an with him all the time (work part time nights as a nurse) while my DH works 50+ work weeks including weekends. But he definitely still disciplines when he's home - even he admits that I'm a million times more patient than him. I should add that DS has always seemed to be more drawn to men in general, so maybe that's why! Oh well. He always comes to me over DH when he's hungry, but that's about it. Maybe I'll be the favorite someday
