What do you dress them in for sleep during the winter months?
LO is too old to be swaddled and doesn't like sleep sacks. We've been putting her in footed PJ's and keep her room at around 70 degrees but I worry she might be cold at night. I have thought about a onesie under her PJ's but then I worry about overheating. I realize now that I'm sounding neurotic! It's so hard when they're too young to tell you if they're comfortable!

Does your LO's hands and/or ears feel cool? That seems to be the best indicator for us. If her hands are cool, I add a layer and haven't had issues with her getting too hot after.
My LO sleeps in a sleep sack, but we keep our house pretty cool so we bought lots of fleece sleepers for some added warmth.

I put DS in fleece pajamas and have a chamois cover for the crib mattress.

@rachiecakes: By chamois cover do you mean loose blanket or something more fitted? I have friends who put blankets in their babies' cribs but my DH won't let me do it!

I would put a onesie on underneath the footed PJs. 70 degrees is pretty cool so I don't think she will overheat.

We also keep the house at 70 degrees, and LO sleeps in fleecy footie pajamas, and has a small knit blanket in there with him. The blanket has lots of holes, and LO is 19 months, so I don't really worry about him suffocating.
Also, we have a little space heater that we'll use in the room before we put LO to bed to warm up the room, and I think that helps.

@betsyboop: it's a fitted crib sheet/mattress cover, but it's fuzzy and warm.

We keep the temp at 74 (not hard to do in TX) so he sleeps in a footed sleeper and has a double layer muslin blanket with him. I have thought about trying a footed sleep sack though.

We put DS in fleece footed PJ's with a onesie underneath. We also keep the house at 70 degrees, and lately I've been putting a cotton hat on him too - he's still a baldy and I worry that he will get cold! His hands and feet are nice and toasty in the morning.

DS sleeps in footie pajamas and I tuck a (crocethed) blanket around him. I also keep the room warm (my husband calls it "the boiler room" lol), but I still worry a little bit that he might get cold at night...

My 14 month old is big enough to keep a blanket on her, which was a relief. I was stressing the cold months before she figured that out.
