... and you didn't realize it until you set her down at your chair and realized it leaked all over your arm (meaning it got softened enough by the water to leak out when it was squished by you carrying her)
Would you tell the pool? Or just leave?

As in you are worrying some leaked out while you were holding her in the pool? Ehhhh I'd leave it. It's unlikely much got out, just a tiny bit of poop juice that the chlorine will take care of.
If you are worried about the chair I would try to clean it myself.
Poop in swim diapers is so freaking gross.

This is why I don't entirely grasp the concept of swim diapers. The poop is in contact with the water, just the same as if there were a piece of poop floating around. They really ought to shock the entire pool either way.
But if this happened to me, uhhh yeah I would probably flee. Not gonna lie.

Not to be totally dense, but what is the health risk if it's a healthy kid? I mean, don't get me wrong I do not want poop floating around in any way shape or form. Just confused for the same reason as @PawPrints: - the water is going in and out of the swim diaper either way.
I know this is why at some indoor pools you have to do a disposable under a plastic reusable cover.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: @Rockies11: haha that's what I ended up doing
@Foodnerd81: I agree - poop is so nasty in swim diapers. I was scrambling to clean her, myself and the chair before anyone really noticed.... but I hears some moms behind me say "omg that's so disgusting!" So I'm guessinga few people noticed lol

My DD just pooped in the community pool this week. She was jumping in and out and I was helping and after she jumped in one time, I saw poop bits on the concrete, so I scooped her right out again and sure enough.... after I changed her, I checked pool area and I didn't see any bits in the water, so we kind of jumped in and out in that same area so the water would wash away the poop on the concrete.... is that horrible of me? We were on a play date and we had been in the water for only a few minutes! Lol.
In your case, I just would've got the hell out of there.

Unless there's a log, run! There is so much chlorine in public pools. And trust me, the lifeguards don't want to evacuate

You wouldn't have the only kid who pooped in the pool. What are they really going to do anyway?

Shit happens
It's happened to us at swim school several times over 3 years, it happens to everyone sooner or later! Our swim school has protocols for each type of poop incident, they do a great job. Never really thought about public pools- unless you have a floater, clean up and go.

Code BROWN!!! Ahh. I was a lifeguard so I know all about the poopy issues at public pools. There is a protocol for code browns and I would appreciate as a parent or swimmer that the pool to be checked and chlorine levels tested. Poop is gross. Simply let the lifeguard know and they'll do their job in protecting all the swimmers. No biggie. It happens.
