So I have been having monthly scans at MFM bc there was a cyst on baby's kidney at our 16 week scan. We thought it was a double ureter issue which meant increased risk for UTI, kidney infection and worst case scenario surgery but it was going to be ok bc people live with one kidney

At my scan this morning we found out it's worse than we thought. Both kidneys are bad and enlarged and bc of this her fluid level is low. She's at increased risk of compressed cord and basically dying in utero - they are using scary words like survival rate, dialysis and kidney transplant

I was monitored at MFM and they didn't like what they saw so in was admitted to the hospital for further monitoring. I am getting steroid shots for baby's lungs in case she has to come out early. I'm 28 weeks and did not expect this when I left the house this morning.

Please keep us in your thoughts - I am a wreck
