I just had my anatomy scan last week and yes, she had to do a TV because I apparently have placenta previa (which I also had with my first dd).

With both kids I had TV done during the anatomy scan because it was hard for her to measure my cervix abdominally. For my first, my cervix length was normal. For my second, it was low. but I do think it was just normal routine for both

I had a TV at 20 weeks, it's routine for us. The tech said I could decline, but that measuring cervical length on the outside is not considered accurate or good practice anymore. The tv was just to measure cervical length. I didn't decline bc I've had them before and they're really not that bad and if my cervix looked short from the outside, she said they'd have to measure vaginally anyway... Maybe it looked short from the outside and they wanted to double check?

I did not have one with my so three years ago, but did with my three month old. Like another poster said, apparently it is now standard practice to offer; they told me it was recommended, but optional.

My doctor does this standard at the anatomy scan - it was standard three years ago when I was pregnant with my son too.

I've had it with all three of mine to check cervical length

@sunnyday: For my 2013 baby they didn't do one. For my 2016 baby my doctor told me the new recommendation is to do them on everyone and I had one.
