An opening came up for a nanny share with a nanny we know and really like. We are interviewing her tonight, so I was wondering what some good questions to ask would be!

I would ask - What are you cleaning habits and what is the point where you would call in sick (aka the sniffles or if she's really ill).

1. What hours you'll need her to work
2. How long she's been nannying/babysitting
3. Does she have CPR certifications?
4. Will she cook for LO/herself?
5. What holidays does she want/get off
6. Will she do any cleaning/tidying up?
7. Give her scenarios and have her tell you what she would do in the situation (LO has been throwing up all day in her care, she sees a rash on LO, LO starts choking, etc)
8. If you have pets ask her how/if she will care for them as well -
hm. I've never had a nanny but from what I hear around the boards
does she expect vacation/sick pay
emergency contacts in case she doesn't show up
timeliness
what will she do? does she only watch baby? will she help with nap training, activities, blw, etc?
is she infant CPR trained?
does she drive/have a car
education? experience?
will she be OK to update immunizations if you ask her to (assuming NB?) -
I used to be a nanny, and discussing what is expected is HUGE! Such as, should she clean, do LO's laundry, can she take LO anywhere, what should she do during naps etc. Discuss sick/vacation time too.
