DS is 2 and I keep seeing this coat at Target. It doesn't feel super bulky and it's not a puffy coat but I'm still very unsure. Last year he wore a fleece and I carried him under a blanket. Now he wants to walk everywhere.
Thoughts? Would this be safe?

Probably not safe. Rule of thumb: buckle LO as normal, tighten straps, remove LO, put coat on, attempt to buckle. If you have to loosen the straps the coat is too bulky.

@ladybee: you could always have him wear the liner to get into the (warmed up) car and have the shell to put on and off for traveling between. That's what we do.
