My 4 year old is super excited, she asks about it every day! My 2.5 year old doesn't really understand yet, I don't think. I'm really looking forward to taking them out to get candy!

Yes, my 4 year old is very excited. She told me she only wants to go out and get candy, not hand it out at our house. And she doesn't even like candy that much, except M&Ms. I guess I get to eat hers!

My 2.5 year olds have gotten Halloween treats (fruit snacks) at gymnastics and story time this week, so they are figuring out the trick or treat thing really quickly. We have Halloween events Saturday, Subday, and Monday and theyve been talking about it all week. It's going to blow their minds the first time someone gives them actual candy instead of fruit snacks, though!

We are going to a touch a truck trunk or treat tomorrow and LO is going to be so excited. Life doesn't get much better than big trucks and candy! I think once we go to that he will maybe understand the other events we will go to over the weekend. ETA He's 2.5.

Yes! My 4 year old is mapping out streets and negotiating how long/how far away we can go. He even asked if he could ride his bike to cover more ground.

Yes. Ours are very excited. We love Halloween. Our neighborhood is very fun. We get about 1000 trick or treaters so after we go out we come back and hand out candy and have a party in our front yard.

@Mrs. Train: That's an unreal amount of ToT'ers. What do you give out, I can't even imagine what you spend!
We haven't talked about it much. Our littlest is not quite 2, which makes this a challenging year. The 5 year old is likely to get frustrated with her slow pace and being tired. I remember 3 being a really fun year! Unfortunately, we skipped it at 4 because she was sick.

We have a great neighborhood (my friend's) to trick or treat in and so we are spoiled in so many ways for the fun we get to have each year. Still LO is only excited about her costume this year...and a little about the candy. We went to a costume party tonight at the library and she liked that!

Not at all, lol. We're going to an event today at my husband's office and he likes that because he doesn't like it when people open their door and try to talk to him and ask him questions. So instead, we skip all that and he hands out the candy and runs the fog machine at our house, in his costume.

@Mrs. Train: oh my! That's insane! We get maybe 10 kids down our way on our road so we don't even bother.

@MamaG: it's not too bad we do the big bags of mini chocolates and the Willy winks bags from Costco. Then friends who come over to our house brings some bags with them. We usually run out around 8 and have to go inside. It is a lot of fun to see so many people in costumes.
@Bao: I know it's pretty crazy but it's fun. We just hang out in our front yard handing out candy.

He doesn't know but I am! He's still not quite ready for really understanding or true trick or treating but we will go to a few houses and have fun activities. I am really looking forward to it. I need to start practicing trick or treating with him!
