Pregnant - nope. Thank goodness I'm not a big wine drinker or I'd be so tempted by all this yummy wine we have in the house.

Pregnant- nope! I'm bringing sparkling cider to MIL's so I can pop something with the rest of the fam.

I might have a sip to sample something, but won't drink drink.

I didn't while pregnant or nursing because I just lost the taste for it. Once I was done nursing, though. The taste came back pretty quickly.

Pregnant, no. Nursing, yes. I'll be having a glass of wine with Thanksgiving dinner.
cherry / 188 posts
Second or third trimester or breastfeeding? Yep, I'll have a small glass of wine with dinner! First trimester, no.
pear / 1642 posts
I usually have a sip or two of wine to sample, but I may have a half glass to myself tomorrow, depending on what wines we will have around.
pomegranate / 3658 posts
Pregnant: Nothing in first tri, maybe a half glass in second or third tri.
Nursing: Oh hell yes.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
Nursing- most definitely yes!
Pregnant, I will have sips of DH's, or I would feel completely comfortable having a small glass of wine for myself but I know it makes other people uncomfortable so I only do that at home.
I've been pregnant or nursing every holiday since 2012.

Pregnant - no. Nursing - yes.
I'm still nursing and I'll have a glass (or two) of wine during the day tomorrow.

I'm still nursing and have a beer pretty regularly now, but I don't think there will be alcohol at DH's family Thanksgiving tomorrow.

2nd or 3rd tri small glass...Nursing definitely yes a small glass and another after last feeding...this is the first holiday season since 2010 that I am not pregnant or nursing!!! So drinks are a definite yes!!!!

In theory I would love a glass of wine, but in practice probably not.

I'm still in my first trimester so I won't be drinking. I don't usually drink much anyway so it's not anything out of the ordinary.

Pregnancy - I've sipped from my husband's beer throughout my pregnancy so definitively will during the holidays as well. I haven't served my self a drink yet and probably won't.
Nursing- Yes, would pump and dump
grapefruit / 4321 posts
If I were still pregnant I wouldn't have. But little man came early so I'll be nursing. I'll have a glass of wine with dinner.

LO is 19 motnhs and I still nurse, and I definitely drink! Never so much that I'm buzzed, but definitely a glass or two.
Pregnant I only had sips, and only later in pregnancy (and tww)

Our families don't really do a lot of holiday drinking. They save that for random bbqs and get togethers. But pregnant no. Nursing yes. I'm caring for my kids so it's not like I'd be getting plastered anyway so nursing or not I'd probably drink the same amount.

Not a big drinker anyway, but if pregnant no, if nursing, right after a session so that I can enjoy before nursing again
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@Truth Bombs: I didn't realize you had your baby! Congrats!
pear / 1558 posts
Nursing & I'll probably have a little wine. I frequently have a few sips of DH's beer or wine.
watermelon / 14206 posts
Nursing - yes. M is 20 months old, so it's easy to skip sessions.
nectarine / 2173 posts
I had a few 1/2 glasses at home if alcohol in 3rd trimester. No reason not to drink modestly while nursing.
nectarine / 2086 posts
Pregnant - yes a half glass.
Nursing - YES YES. Although I get pretty drunk if I have more than one drink so I really have to watch it! And I hate how easily I get dehydrated.
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
Both yes, however, pregnant I'd take a straw a grab a mini sip. Like the kid trick where you put the straw in the glass, put your finger on the end, and pick it up with a tiny volume in it.
I take a real sip at weddings for the champagne toast only.
I pretty much never drink to get drunk (maybe four times in my life) so I drink my regular half to one and a half glass, well timed when nursing
nectarine / 2115 posts
I'm pregnant and won't. If I were nursing I would, and just plan accordingly.

I'm nursing and I will have a couple drinks throughout the day.

Nursing- I wish. My family doesn't drink and prob would not be ok with us buying some to drink here. My mom thinks people shouldn't drive after eating a liquor filled chocolate.
grapefruit / 4819 posts
After the first tri, yes to a small (and I do mean measured out, under the standard single unit, small) glass of wine once in a while (thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, maybe NYE).
Nursing - umm, yes. Most resoundingly, yes.
nectarine / 2667 posts
I'm 33 weeks, so I'll probably sip a small glass of wine over the course of the evening, but I may not if it gives me heartburn. I wish I was nursing, so I could plan having a little more - I really want to enjoy a large glass of wine!
clementine / 878 posts
I would in both cases but only 1 drink per day at the very most, and no hard alcohol of course. Maybe a glass of beer or wine with dinner.
papaya / 10570 posts
I'm pregnant and I would totally have a small glass of wine with dinner, but I will be driving (with E in the car) so I can't. Plus, my SIL would totally judge me..... (she got pissy the other Christmas, when she was pregnant, because somebody put the cheddar knife too near the blue cheese and she was worried about cross contamination).
persimmon / 1328 posts
I will be about 31 weeks at Christmas and will definitely be enjoying a very small glass of bubbly with the family. My first pregnancy I wouldn't have though. Breastfeeding definitely.

I am almost 39 weeks pregnant, and haven't had a drink since before my BFP. I told DH last night (just so he wouldn't be surprised in the moment) that I am planning on indulging in a small glass of red wine with Thanksgiving dinner. My mom has even offered to bring a pinot noir that I like - I'm really looking forward to those few ounces!
