@FliegepilzHut: Thank you! I'm glad you got your SHG scheduled! FET will be here before you know it!!! It is expensive. I wish more insurance plans offered infertility coverage!

@Sunshine1810: Me too! I'm planning to write an angry letter to my state legislature....

@bluestriped bee: Awesome! I was on all the same meds. Its going to fly by now that you have your dates!
@Sunshine1810: Don't worry, it still means your pregnant! Praying your numbers double beautifully!

@Sunshine1810: Congratulations on the positive beta! Isn't it an amazing feeling, after all this time? Good luck for Thursday!!!!

@Sunshine1810: Yay for a positive beta! Lots of luck for growing numbers on Thursday!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Cool. How many of each did you buy? My RX says...
Follistim 600 IU AQ x 4
Menopur x 1
Ganirelix x 1
Did you only need 1 of Menopur and 1 Ganirelix. Sounds odd that I only need one of each. I need to call them to confirm.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@bluestriped bee: I had 5 Ganirelix pre-loaded syringes (used 4) and 4 boxes of Menopur (I think each box had 5 vials, so I used 2 boxes)
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@bluestriped bee: My order had qty 5 Ganirelix and I used 3. Mine was in a prefilled syringe too, one whole syringe per dose.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@bluestriped bee: They sent me at least 3 boxes of Menopur which was WAY too much, since I think I only ever used 1 (75mg?) vial per day! Will you do the first 5-7 days just with Follistim, then add the Menopur?
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Shutterbug: @PurplePumps: Oh, thanks.
@FliegepilzHut: My calendar says I'm suppose to start both follistim and menopur at the same time.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@bluestriped bee: Ok. Forgive me for asking stupid questions...but is the Ganirelix used the entire cycle to suppress ovulation (instead of Lupron?) or some other way?
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Ganirelix is used after you have follicles of a certain size, to suppress ovulation. So I used it after like, 5-6 days of stimming, for the rest of my stim period. It is basically in place of Lupron though... I don't think you'd use both.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Ganirlex is a of fast acting antagonist used for suppression. You only use it toward the end of the stim period once the follicles are closer to ovulation to suppress the LH surge rather than an agonist like Lupron used the entire time.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Shutterbug: Thanks! I had to look it up... After using Ganirelix, did you trigger with Lupron or HCG?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Yup. I used HCG with the Ganirelix and have HCG prescribed for my Lupron cycle as well.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Shutterbug: @PurplePumps: Interesting. Thanks for the explanation!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@FliegepilzHut: @PurplePumps: @Shutterbug: Thanks for explaining. I am still learning and asking questions.
Oh, I found out my prescription wasn't complete. They emailed it to me and I guess they were still figuring out my dosages. So I'll need 20 of menopur and 4 ganirelix.
I'll be on 175 of follostim.
I asked about Bravelle to replace follostim and they said no, but I can get Gonal-F instead.
Anyone know which one is cheaper (follostim or gonal-f)?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@bluestriped bee: A nice bee linked me to this site: http://www.freedomfertility.com/fertility-medications/medications-and-pricing.aspx
I dont see follostim, but gonal is on there for about $900/900iu pen.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@PurplePumps: yeah, I was just on that site. That will save me $1000 switching to Gonal-f.

@Sunshine1810: Thinking of you this morning! And FX for a nicely doubling beta!

@sweetooth: Thank you! We'll see what happens today. I'm so nervous!
@FliegepilzHut: Thank you! I already had my blood drawn. I should have the results back sometime after 1:00 pm EST.

I got my results super early (the bad nurse is on vacation)! My beta went from 18 to 52 in 48 hours! I know I'm still low but I am happy it's moving in the right direction!
nectarine / 2705 posts
@Sunshine1810: An early call is the best! And yes, increasing numbers are the best kind of numbers. You are still pregnant!!! Is there another beta scheduled? I didn't do IVF, but my first beta after my 3rd IUI was 46.5 and now my little guy is 10 1/2 months old! Keeping thinking positive thoughts!!!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@Sunshine1810: That's awesome! I don't remember where I read this, but somewhere I did read that it's not so much the exact numbers that matter since everyone can have completely different hormone levels, but the doubling/increase that matter so that would be great numbers to have!
pear / 1556 posts
@PurplePumps: Thank you! I have read that too, it's just the low numbers still kind of freak me out. I almost wish my clinic didn't start testing so soon because I am going to have to do this all next week too, so it's a lot of stress waiting for those numbers every 2 days!
persimmon / 1085 posts
@Sunshine1810: That's fantastic!!!! I don't think that is low at all. Mine was 141 on Day 17 beta which is 3 days past yours today. And my son 2 years ago was a 51 on Day 16. All that matters is that they keep rising and yours more than doubled!!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Sunshine1810: Yay! Congrats on an excellent doubling beta!!! Grow, embie, grow!
nectarine / 2433 posts
@Sunshine1810: Congrats! Doubling is great and its not really that low of a number. My first beta was at 14dpr and it was 81.
