@mama2em: Just checking in to say I hope you're doing well! Are you still thinking you'll have the ER in the next couple of days? Is this day ten of stims for you, yes?

@momazon: Great numbers congrats!! Hoping right there along with you that you get a good fertilization report! Are you planning on doing a 5dt?
@jaguar: Wishing you lots of luck for your ER tomorrow!! I know a freeze all wasn't at all what you wanted but I was at risk for OHSS as well and did a fresh transfer and got REALLY horrible OHSS after my BFP. I gained 14 pounds in 5 days and was out of work for a month. Let me tell you, there is no misery like that.. I don't think I will ever do a fresh transfer again because of it. I know there were other factors for freezing all this cycle too for you but I always have to tell people that avoiding OHSS is really a good reason to freeze. I really feel for you and all you have been through this year Really praying that the new year brings you your baby.
@bluestriped bee: I am sorry you are feeling so down. I think the days my friends babies were born were harder for me than their pregnancy announcements. It was such a weird thing how when you are dealing with infertility how you feel like your life is at a standstill and everyone elses just breezes by at record speed. One of my best friends and I started trying the exact same time. She got pregnant her first month.. I remember how strange it was when her baby was born and I was still in the same place of trying.. A whole year later at her babies first birthday I was in the middle of my IVF cycle. It was just a strange reminder where my life could have been at that point had I not had fertility issues. But now that I had a successful IVF cycle I feel like this feels right, the timing seems to make sense to me now even though it was so painful when I was waiting. Hang in there

@jaguar: Hope you're recovering well from yesterday's retrieval and that your family is giving you a little bit of relaxation time! Thinking of you and hoping yesterday wasn't too terribly rough. For your clinic, will they freeze the embryos quite early, or do they grow them out first and then freeze at day 5/6? I've only ever ended up with one frozen embryo (I think it was frozen at Day 6), so I'm not up on the usual plan!

@momazon: Have you heard your fert report yet? How are you today?
kiwi / 613 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Feeling good - just a little bit sore but am trying not to do any heavy lifting here at work (we're moving offices so it's a bit hard to avoid!)
YES, got the report this morning, and we're pleased. Of the 15, 12 were mature and 9 fertilized normally. So we have 9 moving forward, so that's the most we have ever had, so clearly that means this cycle is going to be the sticky one! Are you getting excited for tomorrow?

@jaguar: saw your pic on IG,hope you're feeling ok today!
@momazon: that's a great fert report!!

Crazy day. Had so much pain before the procedure even started, and then four attempts at a cannula, once again - no luck with sedation - and then major discomfort after. Ended up a few endone pills! Was getting ready to leave (in recovery) and blacked out, had to be put back to bed. Happened again, so they admitted me to the hospital... but I weasled my way out and back home last night.
We got 13 eggs retrieved yesterday. Just got the call this morning that 2 were immature, 3 fertilised abnormally & we have 8 left. They're freezing in batches of 3, 3, 2. (Today, at day 1.)

@jaguar: Well done with 8 embies! That whole experience with the IV sounds pretty awful though. Take good care of yourself! I'll have everything crossed for a great transfer for you very shortly!

@jaguar: oh man! When I saw your pic I thought it was OHSS Glad to hear you have 8 embies in the freezer, that's great!

@Shutterbug: If they had triggered me with hcg, I would have overstimmed, it was so bad. Thankfully they prevented it by the Lucrin trigger. They looked out for me.
@FliegepilzHut: Got a while to wait now! x

On my phone so I have to keep this short and sweet
@momazon: Great report!! So glad for you!!
@jaguar: So sorry that it was a tough day but sounds like it was a real success! Glad that you are out of the woods for OHSS, too!
@FliegepilzHut: Good luck with your check in tomorrow. I'm sure it will go great!!
We took our flight this morning and made it here ok despite rough air. Feeling good about the FET tomorrow!!

@jaguar: 8 is wonderful-- yay! Sounds like you really went through a lot yesterday-- I'm sorry it was so rough. I like the mental image of you talking your way out of the hospital! But thank goodness you've avoided the OHSS!
@GreenThumb: Glad to hear you made it safely! Are you going back after one/two night(s), or what was your plan? Fx for a smooth day tomorrow!
Thanks for the support, everyone!

All set! Everything went as planned. Two embies snuggling in! Now to relax the rest of the day!! And we are getting some treats at a pie shop I always wanted to try while we lived here.
@FliegepilzHut: Thank you!! Hope all is well with you, too. Can't wait to hear!

Hi ladies, so sorry I haven't updated. I was feeling pretty discouraged the past couple of days with poor response to the stims, but I just had my ER and we retrieved 4 eggs (outof 5 follcles). I think most would be devastated with this, but I'm stoked and just so glad I came out with more this time around. Please cross your fingers for me that these are all (or mostly) good quality.
@momazon: @jaguar: congrats on your great retrievals/reports! @jaguar hope you are recovering well! @greenthumb: best wishes to you and hope your 2ww goes by fast!

@mama2em: That does sound like good news! FX for you!!! You will most likely transfer on 11/24 or 11/26, right?
So I got my directive. Starting PIO tonight for a transfer 11/26!
kiwi / 613 posts
@FliegepilzHut: excellent! Good luck with the PIO!
@mama2em: All my fingers crossed that those four are great quality eggs and that your LO is in that bunch!
@GreenThumb: Hope you enjoyed the pie and a relaxing day of embryo snuggling!

@momazon: Thanks! My first dose wasn't bad! Will you get another update tomorrow?
kiwi / 613 posts
@FliegepilzHut: That needle looks so much scarier than it really is. Thankfully! Yes, I should get another update tomorrow, but my RE called and left a message today that we'll definitely be doing a 5-day transfer on Monday, since we still have nine moving forward. Unless something crazy happens, of course!

@mama2em: Sounds like great news! Hoping for a really great report for you!
@FliegepilzHut: So happy that everything looks good and you are all scheduled to go next week.
@momazon: Great news! I'll be thinking if you on Monday!!
We are flying home and start the waiting game now

hi...really need your opinions! so received word today that only 2 fertilized. if you were in my position (and assuming both will make it to day 3), would you choose a 3 day transfer or a 5 day transfer? i'm terrified that i won't have any to transfer if i wait until 5 days. i did a 3 day transfer last time, but i only had 1 embryo. 2 is not much better, so it's kind of the same as last time. such tough decisions...
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@mama2em: my clinic does 3 day transfers if you have only the # of embryos that you were planning to transfer (or less) still growing on day 3. We're you planning on doing a single embryo transfer? If not, I'd transfer both on day 3. If it were me, I think I'd do a day 3 transfer of two embryos.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@mama2em: I agree with @Shutterbug: . I'm fairly certain my clinic would also do a Day#3 with that number (and would recommend transferring both unless you strongly prefer eSET)! I'm still very hopeful for you! Grow embies, grow!
pear / 1986 posts
@mama2em: I also agree about a 3-day transfer. But what does your RE recommend? I'm kind of torn on the single or double transfer. In a way it would be great to have two chances if one was good enough to freeze, but I know that it might be best to just try with both embryos now. Wishing you a ton of luck and keeping my fingers crossed for you!
@FliegepilzHut: Wednesday will be here before you know it! How are you doing?
@momazon: Keeping you in my thoughts tomorrow!!
kiwi / 613 posts
@mama2em: If it were me I would transfer on Day 3. Tons of babies start off as Day 3 transfers, and hopefully that will be the case for yours as well! So that would make your transfer tomorrow, right? Good luck!!!

Got my beta's scheduled at a lab in town! Monday, December 1st will be 10dp5dt. And, I will probably test at home on Sunday morning, but no earlier !!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@GreenThumb: I think that sounds like a great plan. I'm still working on getting my crazies out. I lit a candle at church today for the babies that aren't with us...and talked with our minister for a bit. Trying to arrive on Wednesday sane and hopeful! Hope your LO(s) are happy and snug!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@mama2em: I agree with PP. With fewer embryos, my clinic would move ahead with a day 3 transfer. The idea is that if there may not be many to choose from on day 5, then they want to go ahead and get them back to their natural environment sooner than later. I had 3 on day 2, and they suggested to transfer the 2 best on day 3.

Hi ladies! So today's ultrasound showed my cyst is gone and I'm starting my first injections tomorrow morning. This is my second ivf so I feel a bit calmer but its still nerve wracking. We will be doing PGD on any day 5 blasts we (hopefully) get which would put our FET in feb. In the meantime, I've been on a steroid that's part of my protocol that's making me hungry and not tired at night. Fun!
nectarine / 2433 posts
@mama2em: I agree with many of the other ladies, in this case I would be open to transferring 2 embryos on day 3 rather than wait to day 5. I would also be interested in what the RE thinks.

@FliegepilzHut: Eeekkk! Wednesday will be here in no time! I have my FX for you.
@GreenThumb: Yay for betas!
@leanne82: Good luck with your cycle! Is there a reason you are doing PDG this time around?
