Vent alert. I wanted to slap SIL again so bad. DH is not all "ooh babies are cute and awesome". He's in the camp of " let me know when they can communicate and talk ". So he said something to that effect last night about how infants are icky, and sil, who is one of the 3 people that know we have been trying for 2+ years (who was just asking about it and if we had given up cause trying was too hard to which I had responded " of course it's f**king hard, but we do want kids"). Anyways she says to him "you better hope you don't have kids then". And she said that to him last year too when he made a comment about how he would let an infant cry a bit before picking it up or not enforcing a sleep schedule. Thanks a lot bitch. We don't exactly have to hope that seeing how we're moving onto ivf cycle 2, but thanks for the suggestion.

@PurplePumps: ugh, I'm so sorry . Your SIL's comments are so hurtful. I felt a knot in my stomach just reading that

@PurplePumps: Ugh! I'm so sorry. Your SIL could be on the list of 'what not to say to some with IF'. Hugs!

Still no period here. BUT....
I asked my FS if we could do something different for my next FET, since I'm scared the Letrozole isn't working and making me O any more. She's going to do an OI/FET using GonalF and Ovidrel. Since I finished Provera and am waiting around on AF.... I had to rush around madly to get a script for GonalF & then put the order in at a chemist to order it in. The pharmacist reckons he'll have it in by Friday.
Has anyone ever done a Gonal F/OI ovulation FET before? Do you start the drugs day 2 or 3 of your cycle? And is it generally shorter than a regular cycle? We have to get a transfer in before February 11, when we're away.
COME ON AF, we're waiting for you!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@jaguar: I used Follistim, menopur and Ovridrel for my ER. Not for FET. Oh, I was told that gonal F could be a substitute for Follistim. Anyway lots of luck to you. Hope AF comes soon.
So I posted this on the IF checkin thread.
So I'm starting my delestrogen shot on Saturday which is the same day as my younger sister's baby shower. I'm been co-hosting with my other sister, so emotionally I've been fine with it. (I think I'm really looking forward to my FET and I'm hopeful and positive) I'm thinking that I should wait to do my shot after the shower. Just so if there are any hormonal issues, I don't make it worse. I'm hoping I'm fine at the shower but I don't know.
Would you guys wait to take the delestrogen shot?

@bluestriped bee: I had my BFF's baby shower the day before my second egg retrieval... luckily she knew (no one else did) but with giant swollen ovaries and 10,000iu of HCG in my system, I felt a bit like a ticking emotional time bomb, haha! It was totally fine, but I would probably wait to take the shot til after the shower, if I were you, assuming they didn't give you any time-specific instructions.

@Shutterbug: oh, yikes. Glad you were fine at your sister's shower. Yeah, I think it's better to be safe and do the shot after the shower. Oh, and no time requirements for me. I do have to stop BC today and I've noticed that I have really bad PMS (moody). I'm in the last few days of planning. Yeah, we'll see how things are leading up to the shower.

@bluestriped bee: The transfer is getting so close! How exciting! FX for you!
I was hoping squeeze a retrieval in before the end of the month, but based on the Lupron protocol schedule they use, I probably wont be retrieving until second week of Feb, which works out perfectly. DH has to travel for work 2 days the first week, and I think my court date (speeding ticket appeal) is that week too so I don't want to chance eggs being ready on those dates anyways,

@bluestriped bee: I would probably wait and do it after the shower, just in case. Did you have any problems getting the Delestrogen? I heard somewhere that there's currently a shortage?
pomegranate / 3533 posts
I just lost an entire post...
@bluestriped bee: I agree with pp-- personally I would wait...but then I also strongly prefer to time my IM injections at night (b/c it ensures I'll be home and less rushed)!
@PurplePumps: Yay for great timing! It'll be here before you know it!!!
@Shutterbug: Wow! Holding it together under those circumstances sounds like an amazing feat!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@bluestriped bee: I would probably wait too, since you've not had it before. *hugs*
Still no AF here, so I am stuck in limbo.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@momazon: I ordered Meds in early Dec and I don't think knew of any shortage issues.
@Shutterbug: @momazon: @FliegepilzHut: @jaguar: I waited to do it. Shower went great overall. Crazy hectic before the shower and I only got an hour of sleep but it's now over!! Yay!!
@PurplePumps: thanks! Yeah, it is getting close. Though there's that thread on here about wanting a singleton or twins and the responses are mostly negative. It's making me re-consider transferring two.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@bluestriped bee: Ahh, I saw that thread too. It doesn't sway me though. I still have every intention of transferring two. I sill stand by my original reasoning that the "worse case scenario" outcome for either decision would be way more devastating for the 1 transfer to me. We also ideally want 2, and I don't mind at all for that to be twins and would prefer it to having a second at almost 40. Plus no matter how hard it is, I'd still be thankful for every moment with a set of twins knowing how hard it was to get there.

Any updates on this thread? I know Leialou had her FET this weekend.
My lining check is this Friday (Jan 23rd) and I should know my FET date at that point. Wondering if it will still be the 28th or change to a different date... hmmm... Could I be 8 days away from my FET?? It needs to get here. I'm feeling good but I think I'm going to crash soon. Feeling antsy (ok, really antsy!) and starting to get a tad impatient. Wondering what it will be that will bring turn me into a negative nancy.

@PurplePumps: congrats on getting started with the Lupron!
@bluestriped bee: good luck with the lining check! Only a week-ish left! OMG!
My update: I'm doing my 2nd Delestrogen injection tonight- I'm in the beginnings of a mock EEP cycle that's required before we move forward with a donor egg cycle. My lining check is on the 30th, then we will meet with the doc to discuss the plan, write a huge check (ugh!) and get access to the donor database. Once we pick one, and she is matched with two additional recipients, we will all start to sync up. I'm hoping we can transfer in March, but we'll see!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@momazon: That sounds like a great update! FX for smooth sailing from here on out!

For all you experts who have had FETs, did the amount of Delestrogen you took seem really small? I just did my injection and it was such a tiny amount! Only .1cc! Is that normal?
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@bluestriped bee: Not long now, huzzah!
I'm hoping we're going to get this FET happening! Started Gonal-F injections to bring on O, and hopefully a transfer, if all goes well. So nervous I could puke.

@jaguar: Everything crossed for you!
@momazon: Did oral estrogen (Estrace) here...

@jaguar: I'm so happy you can fit it in before your trip!! What great news!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@momazon: thanks! You are moving right along. You'll be picking out a donor so soon!! Oh, as for delestrogen, I've been doing 0.5mL every 3 days.
@jaguar: woohoo! Hope your gonal F shots go well! Don't puke!
pear / 1986 posts
@momazon: I don't know about the delestrogen (I had patches), but I just wanted to wish you luck with the mock cycle and hope that it all goes well!
@jaguar: So excited and happy for you that you get to fit in another cycle!! PS: I love Fiji - was there over 15 years ago and it was beautiful!!
@bluestriped bee: Yay for lining check later this week!! I know that antsy feeling…
