More bad news on our part. Egg retrieval went fine but because of a large amount of eggs collected (19) they are making us freeze them all because of ohss risks. Absolutely gutted. That's 3/3 stim cycle freeze alls.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@jaguar: Oh no. What a bummer. But you know... my RE was really pushing me to do a freeze all cycle. He says its best to let your body rest and reset, plus, all the advances in freezing embryos makes frozen ones just as good as fresh ones now. Do you know how many embryos you've ended up with out of the 19 eggs retrieved? Keep holding on to hope!! And have your husband give you a foot massage or something tonight.

@agold: we won't find out fertilisation details until tomorrow. I'm so bummed. FETs work great for some folks, but not out specialists agree that they just don't seem to work for me. All our FETs have had negative results -- not to mention we now have more months of waiting. It's just so ridiculous. The last fresh transfer we had was Georgia.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@jaguar: Darn it. I'm so sorry. I"m hoping you get lots of embryos so you will at least have lots of chances. I'm keeping you in my thoughts.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@jaguar: Ugh, sorry about the freeze-all and things not going as planned. I had the same question as agold, since some REs only do FETs. My hope for you is that with 19, you'll get some super embies that will stick no matter what!
I'm worried about ohss, too, and so is my RE because my AMH is crazily and PCOS-like high. Even though FETs-only seem like the thing now, my RE said it's not ideal for me. She doesn't want to lose time and neither do I. So much of this is out of everyone's control! Sending hugs.

@jaguar: oh no! I am so sorry to hear that. How frustrating. Hopefully lots of good embryos fertilize and you can move onto your frozen cycle quickly.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
I'm just so frustrated. Three stim cycles since November last year, and every one has ended up in a freeze all. We just want a baby - yet every time we get denied a transfer, it adds up to months of more waiting. I'm so frustrated I could cry.

@jaguar: Big hugs! Boo for more waiting, But 19 is great! I'm hopeful to hear the fertilization report.
pear / 1881 posts
@jaguar: I'm so sorry!!! I hope the fertilization report is good. Your newest clinic does better freezing techniques, right?
Well I had a bfn this morning, so I think that I'm going to stop my progesterone and let af come. I assume that it won't show up while I'm still taking the pill? Onto ivf, just not sure when.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: Boo! AF usually doesn't come until after you're off the progesterone.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
Well damn, I step away for a long weekend and just miss a boat load!
@YogiRunner: Congrats!
@bloved: Holy sh!t! That's so scary, what a relief that it turned out ok.
@jaguar: I hear yaaa, 3 stim cycles in the past year and not a single frozen to show for it here... this all just blows.
@NorthStar: I'm so sorry. On my IUI cycles, AF didn't show until I stopped progesterone. On my IVF cycles, AF didn't care if I was on progesterone and even came early. These drugs are sure whacky!
clementine / 849 posts
@jaguar: I'm sorry it's not the news you wanted to hear. Keeping my fingers crossed so tight that you hear better news today with a great fertilization report
@PurplePumps: Thank you lady! I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing long weekend.
Got my 2nd beta back. 1752! Breathing a sigh of relief for now. Now to wait 2+ weeks for the first ultrasound...

@YogiRunner: Great! How long between the two? Wondering if the embryo split?
clementine / 849 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: Thanks! Well it was 72 hours, so it looks like it could have doubled within 32. Which I think is still a singleton range? Guess we'll have to wait to find out, but that would be nuts - was NOT thinking about the possibility of the embryo splitting! A welcome surprise, but a surprise nonetheless.

@NorthStar: Ugh I'm so sorry What dpiui are you? Thinking good thoughts for you
pear / 1881 posts
@YogiRunner: I'm 14 DPO, so I would have thought that if I was preggo, my first response test would have picked that up.
kiwi / 613 posts
@jaguar: I'm so sorry about the freeze all - I know how much you hate those and the fact that it adds a couple of months to even get to transfer! Sucks! Do they know why all your recent cycles have resulted in so many more eggs than your first couple?
persimmon / 1114 posts
@NorthStar: I'm sorry for the bfn. Does your clinic do betas for iui? You might want to wait to stop the progesterone just in case it is a late implanter....(I only suggest bc when I thought I was miscarrying on Saturday I did not take one of my meds. It turns out everything was ok and my dr was very mad I had stopped the med without confirmation from them).
pear / 1881 posts
@bloved: They do have us do betas, which I should have done today. but, I didn't have an opportunity to as I'm out at a client today and cannot get away. Maybe I'll try calling them and see what they want me to do.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@NorthStar: My period came early when I was on progesterone both times for the two IUIs I did. Period didn't come for another 60 or so days after each IUI also, but that's another sob story for another day. I'm so sorry dear that you are thinking your IUI didn't work out. At least you know you have your next plan already made (even though IVF is no walk in the park). Again, I'm so sorry.
@Amorini: I am also really really worried about my fresh transfer being cancelled due to OHSS or whatever. I hate delays. I hate spending more money. Sucks. Sucks. Sucks.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@Amorini: When do you start your injections? I start mine on Thursday!! Yikes!
pear / 1881 posts
@agold: oh ick! I'll be so upset if it makes me start AF so long after it's due. The nurse wants me to keep taking the progesterone and said that eventually, my body will take over and give me AF if it's supposed to. If I don't have a BFP on Wednesday, I'm supposed to go in for a beta to confirm the BFN. I'm not hopeful at this point, but what they are having me do makes sense too. I've just been having this extremely vivid and crazy dreams on the progesterone and I'm so ready to just have a normal night of sleep.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@NorthStar: Oh no. So my period came super early on my IUI cycles, even when I was taking progesterone. And then my NEXT period didn't start for like 60ish days after both IUIs. Its good you just need to keep taking it for another couple of days. Crazy dreams are no good. I've lately been waking up thinking that a spider or lizard is being dropped into my bed. WTF? Anyhow, I'm still holding out hope for you! But if this IUI doesn't work, how soon will you move on to IVF?

Hey IVF girls - my husband and I were just given good tickets to an awesome concert that is happening a few days before my estimated egg retrieval date. The timing sucks. Would you girls go to the concert?
nectarine / 2192 posts
@agold: CD11 on IUI#2. I did femara 5mg days 5-9, ultrasound tomorrow. I'm hoping for two follicles and IUI Friday. I'm doing ovidrel to trigger and an ovidrel booster since I had a lutes phase defect. I'm a little nervous for the ultrasound tomorrow.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: Don't be nervous for the ultrasound. I'm sure you are doing great. I did my first IUI doing follistim days 5-9 It went great. (Except no pregnancy, haha.) I hope you aren't stressing out too much. There's only so much you can do.
persimmon / 1114 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: good luck at your ultrasound!
@agold: I would still go to the concert. I think you should be fine!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: We should hear fertilisation later today. I'm nervous.
@NorthStar: I'm sorry for the BFN chick. Yeah, our new clinic will grow out and freeze on Friday - which is day 4. They are unfortunately shut over the weekend.
@PurplePumps: It does blow. 3 stims/3 freeze alls. No freaking wonder we're not pregnant - we're not even getting the CHANCE to be pregnant!
@YogiRunner: Beautiful beta. x
@momazon: No idea, we have no idea. I just don't know what's going on. The first 2 antags last year were freeze alls because of high progesterone (but ok egg numbers- 13 & 10). This cycle's progesterone was fine, but somehow the eggs spiked up to 19 - on a LONG cycle. What the hell, body?
@agold: I'd go if before - but if it was immediately AFTER retrieval, maybe not!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@bloved: Thanks! I won't be drinking so my husband is excited about having a DD. I'm just hoping I won't be too uncomfortable. Its in my county, so I suppose if we go and I'm not feeling good, we could always just leave early.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@jaguar: Is 19 considered to be an abnormally high number? How are you feeling now? Are you bloating up? I hope your call comes soon!!!
And yes, I agree , no concert after the egg retrieval. The concert scheduled three days before when my retrieval is tentatively scheduled, but retrieval could be a day earlier or later depending on the meds progress.
