Had pretty good cramping yesterday. Like menstrual cramping ... I don't remember that in my first pregnancy at all. Did my usual crazy googling and it seems pretty common in early pregnancy. No AF yet. Fingers crossed... POAS Friday if nothing between now and then...

Anyone else trying chart? I started last month and if anything it's making waiting worse 😂 because when ttc knowledge isn't power, just more crazy.

I'm hoping I od yesterday and my temp is just rising slowly this month but we'll see. Last month it was an immediate spike

I'm also on a something must be wrong with me kick because we're on month 4 and my periods and ovulation have been weird the last 2 months

@JLC53: I'm the worst at symptom spotting but try and remind myself that all symptoms before you'd get a positive test are most likely caused by progesterone. Good luck though!

Had to share since I was just on here saying I hate to POAS. I was so nervous to test this morning but...i took two to be really sure! I guess my husband doesn't have to do his semen analysis tomorrow!

@afc061018: Thank you! I have been trying for 9 months (which I know is a drop in a bucket compared to others)... I was afraid it would never happen!

@MamaBear87: Yep, I'm charting using CM, OPKs, and temps, so I'm obsessive about it all. Last month I had an odd temp climb/drop cycle that drove me nuts. I'm hoping for a clearer temp chart this month, but who knows.

@MamaBear87: I’m also on the something must be wrong with me train. It’s hard when you conceive the first time on the first try and then have to buckle in for the longer haul. I had a stark white BFN this morning and I’m just feeling low about the whole thing. I was thinking to take next cycle off but now I’m so panicked about something being wrong that we probably won’t.

@crazydoglady: yay!! So excited for you!

@afc061018: glad it's not just me whose cycles have gotten sorta crazy.

@Ms.Mermaid: i feel bad complaining about it because I know it's not been long but it's so nerve wracking! I'm toying with skipping next cycle because October is already our anniversary and my daughters birthday but I almost feel like the worst time for it to happen is when it will 😂

@MamaBear87: I am in the same boat - our kiddo's birthday is end of October and our anniversary is at the beginning of the month. I was planning to take this cycle off because October is just always so busy, but thought about it and decided I would rather risk an early October baby than an early November baby who might share a birthday with our kid!

@JLC53: @crazydoglady: Ahh! Congrats you two!!

I live on the East coast and we are currently getting slammed by snow and wind. I've been going to see the RE every day since Tuesday for monitoring. I know I'm about to surge and did not want to miss my appointment this morning. Lots of anxiety but I made it there and back safely. I finally got the go ahead to trigger! IUI scheduled tomorrow and Saturday morning. So excited!

@nicollette1189: I took my name out of the ring-we are going to wait a few more months. I don’t know if we will use a BC method but we won’t actually try with much effort until June. I would love a 4+ year gap. Technically I’ll have to POAS every month.

    Congratulations on the !!!

I am feeling anxious because DH is out of town for a work trip and won't be back until tomorrow and I got the smiley face on my OPK this morning. We had perfect timing last month and nothing so hoping maybe being late will work in our favor??

@MamaBear87: @Ms.Mermaid: I feel strongly about avoiding the holidays so we are trying this cycle and the next but will take a break to avoid Nov/Dec if needed. Hoping it doesn't come to that.

  22. Ms.Mermaid

    kiwi / 745 posts

@Bluemasonjar: I feel strongly about avoiding the holidays but I feel more strongly about keeping our age gap as close as possible to four years and not getting any older (this is extremely unique to me, my mom has early onset Alzheimer’s and I’m approaching the age she was when she had me so it’s creating some additional stress.). I think avoiding the holidays is a great call if you can make it, it’s already such a stressful time of year.

  23. MamaBear87

    nectarine / 2288 posts

@Bluemasonjar: i love the holidays and in general don't find it that stressful so I wouldn't mind a holiday baby. But I'm like Msmermaid, our anniversary is Oct 11 and littles birthday is the 27th so an extra birthday in the middle could be interesting. But I also feel like it will happen when it should so we aren't going to skip

I’m definitely out but because I’m on the edge of the month, my next O date is Jan 20th and my POAS date can be the 31st.

Also, is anyone trying anything different this cycle? I’m going to acupuncture for other reasons but will probably ask for some fertility points too.

@Ms.Mermaid: I'm thinking about acupuncture or doing a massage once a month. Mostly because I find both relaxing and I definitely need some chill lately

@Ms.Mermaid: Sorry to keep jumping in (I have been following along but never roll called because I thought I had no shot this month!) So, the only thing I did differently this cycle was acupuncture and take these. They were recommended by @shantuck: to increase egg health. I have taken coq10 before (along with other supplements to increase fertility) but these must have made a difference

    nectarine / 2288 posts

@crazydoglady: curious what tbe supplement is. Link is to your Amazon cart I think, not the specific item

Ahhh, unfortunately out for this cycle. I’m glad my cycle is back to its normal schedule...but I was really hoping to not see AF this month (like every month)! Crossing my fingers for some more for you ladies! And I’ll likely be rolling over to February depending on when I ovulate.

@MamaBear87: How weird! Thanks for letting me know! I took three of these a day. It comes with 60 pills, so I took them from around CD 5-25 or so since it's definitely more important to take during the follicular phase.

I can chime in. I have a DOR and was TTC my 2nd at 35 with no luck for 6 months. I did acupuncture and started CoQ10 at the recommendation of my acupuncturist. She said 600 mg per day and at the time I didn't realize there was a difference between ubiquinone and ubiquinol (both are forms of CoQ10 but ubiquinol is much more potent) so I took 600 mg of ubiquinol and got pregnant. Unfortuntely, that ended in a loss and I stopped the ubiquinol. Several months later it occurred to me that maybe the ubiquinol helped so I took it again and got pregnant that cycle again. I had another loss but tried a third month and conceived my daughter. Now at 38, I took it again (after it had taken me 14 months to conceive my daughter) and once again got a positive test that very first month I tried. This was another loss (I have old eggs and you are supposed to take it for 3 months before you reap the benefit, which I didn't do) but I'm taking it once again so I'll be ready once I'm cleared to try again. I read this author's book but she also talks about this on her blog: http://www.paleo-mama.com/coq10-might-help-reverse-biological-clock/ and http://www.paleo-mama.com/which-coq10-is-best-for-fertility-ubiquinol-or-ubiquinone/.

Basically, this probably won't help a 25 year old but if you are in your 30s/40s and nothing else is diagnosable, it might be worth a try.

I second Ubiquinol. I've been taking 100mg/2x every day and DH the same. I have PCOS and DH has low motility and morphology. I tried acupuncture before I saw a RE and she recommended we both take it. I think it's helping. DH sperm has improved! My cycles are more regular but this could be the combination of vitamins I'm taking - who knows. Here is the one I purchase:

Went back to temping but my BBT is so slow. Is this because it’s battery is 4 years old? Does anyone have a fast bbt with backlight they love?

  40. MamaBear87

    nectarine / 2288 posts

@Ms.Mermaid: all bbts take at least a minute, it'd measuring your core temp so it takes longer.
Lol I bought an ava bracelet because I just couldn't deal with how long it took

@Mrs Lavender: it's rising nicely! I just had a slow rise this month instead of a dramatic spike. Because of course bodies can't be the same every month
As mentioned above I have an ava bracelet so use their app but also input into natural cycles because their chart sometimes looks nicer 😂
