@sslm: Keeping my fingers crossed for you! My last two cycles were 90+ days, so I understand the frustration of wondering when O will come!

@MrsKRB: A few people have told me that it should be out of my system by now, and some symptoms have lessened but not all of them. So we shall see! I was planning to wait until I got home from California to test, but now it's going to be hard to wait!

So I'm pretty sure I'm in the TWW now. We learned DH can't BD ED (just can't keep it up long enough to finish) so we only did 2 days on, 2 days off then 2 days on again, which ended being the day I think I O'd. We're pretty sure its just in his head because he feels pressured after going more more then 2 days in a row so if I'm not KU this cycle we'll have to stick with EOD.

Anyone else in the TWW yet?

Also I can also commiserate with everyone else and ppl getting KU around them - a coworker is announcing to pretty much the whole workplace that she's pregnant... She just tested this weekend so is probably barely 3-4 weeks. I hate to judge but she can barely afford herself and one child and her "fiance" is an alcoholic, emotionally and physically abusive and can't hold down a job. Ugh...

Chiming in from vacation! Like @LoveHope said, you are the ones who can understand, so it makes me feel better to stay connected!

    CD: 16
TTC: 7 months (?) plus 7 years NTNP
    Baby: #1
Plan: vacation BD! No temping, no OPKs, lots of red wine. I can't say if it's working, but it's so much more fun.
Situation: severe MFI and they say my FSH (9.8) probably doesn't help! I will start on BCPs for our first IVF/UCSI cycle in either July or August, so this is kinda it for conception au naturel, unless....
POAS: July 10. Cycle twins unite!!

Best of luck to us all!!!

@HellOnHeels: im in the TWW too.
I honestly don't feel like this month is my month... I'm trying hard to stay positive.
I totally get our DH's performing under pressure. We didn't feel pressure before. Lately, it feels more like a task than anything else. I'm exhausted!
Lots of luck to you. Hope it's a great month for us.

@LoveHope: Neither did we until our GP told us we should try BD ED during the fertile week, like 7-10 days in a row. On the way home DH outright said "I can't do that!" I figured we should try and so far it's failed. Last night felt so quick, laboured and very unromantic and he barely made it. So, made the decision right then and there EOD from now on.
    I hope its your month!!!

@HellOnHeels: we did the same thing this month. Ughhh im freaking exhausted.

@HellOnHeels: There is NO WAY my DH could do ED. Really, he can't even manage EOD. It's more like, one day on, two days off. He has problems "finishing," which was never an issue until we started TTC - I think our guys must feel a lot of pressure.

  14. LoveHope

    kiwi / 689 posts

@ms.line: agreed. There's so much pressure on both of us now that it's not as enjoyable as it used to be.

    Cycle Day: 1
    TTC Cycle #: 23
    POAS date: 7/27
    Baby #: 2
Your situation: (totally optional!) It took us a year to conceive DD and we are going on two years on this go around. We have unexplained infertility and did our first IUI last cycle. All testing has come back normal and I have a VM into our RE to see if we are doing an IUI this cycle as well.
What's happening this month: Likely clomid, trigger shot and IUI.

@NorthStar: wishing you lots of luck this month. Hope you get your BFP soon!

  17. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@HellOnHeels: I fully support the EOD plan. That'll catch O just fine and might even be better for sperm quality. And then the two of you are less stressed about performance issues and can make those BD sessions be sliiiightly more romantic But a lot of the time, it's just a chore you are both not in the mood for - I get it!

@NorthStar: Sorry to see you're on CD1. Try not to be too discouraged, though - from what I hear most ladies need more than 1 IUI to be successful. May this cycle be the one!
ETA: I'm on IUI #3 so actually hoping that it just takes a few tries most of the time!

  18. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

@YogiRunner: Thanks What made you decide to go to IUI #3 versus IVF? I'm having a hard time deciding what we should do going forward (if this cycle doesn't work). I feel like it's a crap shoot either way. I would like to be hopeful, but it's so damn hard after 2 years of disappointment.

To top off the crappy day, a close friend was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer yesterday that has spread into her bones and she has 2 little boys (she is only 44).

  19. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@NorthStar: I just wasn't mentally prepared to try IVF yet, and my follicles and lining were great, and DH's numbers were strong, so I wanted to give it one last try. My RE said 3 IUIs before IVF is fairly standard. So the plan will be IVF if this cycle doesn't pan out (should know by the weekend)... I have an appointment with my RE tomorrow afternoon to discuss. I actually just saw your post on the IVF thread, and I have the same exact questions! If it helps I'll let you know what my RE says tomorrow about protocol and timing...
Also, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. You just never know when life can take a turn. Wishing her and you all the best.

  20. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

@YogiRunner: Sounds like I'm in the same boat as you (just a month or two behind). Everything has looked great on my end, but yes, please let me know what your RE says. I feel like I need to prepare myself for timing. and lots of hopeful thoughts for you and a positive test this weekend...

Plus, I was able to push off my jury duty until December, so want to get all this done by then so that I can't have to cancel a cycle that month to serve on a jury.

@ms.line: @YogiRunner: @LoveHope: Thanks ladies. Makes us feel a lot better knowing we're not alone. Hopefully we won't have to worry next cycle, but now that we know it's just not doable I think it will be less stressy. Will just have to set a schedule and stick to it.

  23. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@NorthStar: echoing what @YogiRunner said, typically it takes up to 3 iui's, after that my RE said it probably won't happen. As far as I've heard, ivf takes 2 months - 1 month of bc pills and 1 month of the actually process. It probably also depends on your RE and if you're paying oop vs insurance.

  24. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

@MrsKRB: Thank you Unfortunately, all of this is OOP.

  25. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

Another question - have you had your DH's cut out caffeine/alcohol? That is one thing that I haven't had him limit since his numbers were good for his SA. But, for this IUI, his motility was at 22% (down from 70% in September). After this weekend, he is going to cut down on these. We don't drink much, so alcohol probably isn't much of a factor, but he does have a few cups of coffee/day.

I also realize it takes 3 months to see an effect, but who knows how long this whole process will take, so it's worth the change.

  26. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@NorthStar: I actually read somewhere that caffeine can help the sperm move more. Not sure if that's true though!

    Cycle Day: 1
    TTC Cycle #: 12
    POAS date: July 28th
    Baby #: 1
Your situation: (totally optional!) I started TTC in June 2014. After 6 months of trying I finally got a BFP that ended just shy of 6 weeks. We started trying again in February. In March I started acupuncture, and I finally got another BFP in April, which ended just shy of 4 weeks. I got another BFP a few days ago, which ended at 4 weeks.
What's happening this month: I have an appointment with an OB to discuss my fertility problems/ CP's on July 7th.
    Chart link: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/auggiefrog

I finally have my appointment next week. This is my first appointment to discuss my problems. I was wondering what your first appointments were like. I've never been to an OBGYN before. My guess is that she'll just have me start initial testing.

  28. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

@auggiefrog: I'm so sorry to see you here, but we will support you in whatever way you can. I will say that depending upon what your OBGYN suggests, if you have the option, I'd recommend setting up an RE appointment. I worked with my OB starting at 1 year and really wish now and looking back, that I would have just went to an RE instead. What sticks with me is that OB's are good at delivering babies and RE's are good at making babies. Just my two cents...

When I did go to my OB, we did an HSG (to see if my tubes were clear) and she had my progesterone tested, but refused any of the normal early testing (AMH, FSH, estrogen, etc.) that my RE had me do. Granted, all came back normal, but if I had known that last September, we might be further along that we are now.

  29. ms.line

    pear / 1770 posts

@auggiefrog: I agree with @northstar, I would go to an RE, especially with two CPs and a year of trying under your belt. OBs aren't worthless, but they primarily deal with general ladypart maintenance and delivering babies. REs are OBs with additional schooling in fertility.

Everyone has difference experiences, of course, but I would venture to say that your OB will probably send you home with a script for Clomid and a progesterone test. If that's a big enough step for you right now, that's fine! But an RE will start by giving you a full diagnostic workup, which may help to find the root of the problem sooner.

  30. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@auggiefrog: I agree that an RE would be your best option, however I think you should still see an obgyn to get a checkup/pap smear.

  31. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@NorthStar: Here's what my RE said about protocol and timing... this IVF stuff is complicated but here's what I took away: My next cycle (July) will be with a "Luteal Estrogen Protocol". That means that I start taking estrogen 7 days after my surge, which I *think* makes sure that my follicles don't jump start their development for the next cycle, which would make the progesterone kick in too early in the IVF cycle, before the embryo is transferred. Then the cycle after that (August) is when we start the stims, retrieval and transfer. So, one month to prep and then we go. She is not putting me on birth control pills in July.

Also, we just found out yesterday that my AMH levels (taken in March) were low (.03). She didn't seem too worried because FSH was in the realm of normal and I have been producing enough follicles in my IUI cycles, but I'm still worried. My stim meds will be more aggressive, a high dosage of Gonal F and Menopur.

I just had to reschedule my RE appt because my husbands SA results weren't in yet. Ughhh this is extremely frustrating. I'm due to get AF next week. I'm getting all kinds of PMS symptoms. I really hope it's not AF.

Hello Everyone! First post here and so happy to have people to talk to. Good luck to everyone this month!

    Cycle Day: 27
    TTC Cycle #: 7
    POAS date: 7/13
    Baby #: 1
Your situation: (totally optional!) I feel like so many people (my hairdresser, my pilates instructor, a coworker, friends) around me have become pregnant or are considering their second while I'm TTC with no luck. I really appreciate that there is a board out there where I can share my experience with people who have been TTC for 6+ months and are pursuing medical assistance.

I thought I'd have to wait for a year before I could get help from a doctor. I've been waiting for almost a month to hear back from an OB that specializes in infertility. I'm so impatient but trying to work on that! I've also been considering going to an RE instead, but I was referred to this particular OB by my former GP/Gynocologist who doesn't work with pregnancies or infertility.

What's happening this month: I normally ovulate around CD 16 - 20 but this month I ovulated on CD 24. It always seems like my husband's traveling for work during the fertile window but this past month I traveled to see family this time.

Chart link: Not sure if I'm showing this correctly or not but I'll give it a try

Just checking in. I started my new job so I've been busy and exhausted from that. I'm on cycle day 6 here. I'm taking 50 mg of Clomid days 3-7. So far no side effects from the Clomid. I have everything set up to do an iui with a new midwife and use our old donor. We will have to travel 5 hours but are thinking it'll be next weekend, hopefully Sunday. That way I'll only have to miss one day of work. Luckily my in laws live about 40 min from the midwives office so we will stay there. Tonight and tomorrow I have to spend time with my very pregnant cousin. It's always hard. I love her and of course I'm happy for her but it's such a reminder of what isn't hastening for me!

@sslm: Thank you and thanks for starting the July POAS post! I've lurked on a lot of other boards but this was the first one I felt comfortable actually posting in.

To all the women dealing with others around them who are pregnant, is it tempting to any of you at all to ask them about it? I've been too nervous to ask how long any of them tried and am worried I'll end up more jealous or impatient. I know I shouldn't try to compare myself to other people and I am happy for them! I think this board is a wonderful place to have those kinds of conversations.

@2farmmoms: hoping these changes are what you need!

@KittySunshine: welcome! I've been distancing myself as much as possible to pregnant women, so no, I don't ask
