What restaurants do you like to take your toddlers to if you are going out to eat?
We have house guests that are taking us out to dinner tonight. They are wondering what restaurants around us are kid friendly.
Oh, they have a 3 & 4 year old.
I'm thinking Applebees... what else?
Maybe Rainforest Cafe?

Any of the chain restaurants are good if you get there early: Applebee's, Old Chicago, I think the Rainforest would be cool to them!

@bluestriped bee: My DD found rainforest to be a little scary (she is two) there was a time when the restaurant goes a little dark and there was thunder. We went recently at Disney.

If you go early enough, most casual American restaurants are fine. Most chain restaurants will have a kids menu. Red Robin might be a good choice?
Also, I would bring LO out to non-trendy Chinese/Thai/Vietnamese places.

I like IHOP for breakfast or brunch and Chiles for lunch because they are always so fast. My DD has an hour limit at dining out before she gets ansy so I like fast service.

All chains are kid-friendly....but so are plenty of local places. Especially if the kids are modestly well behaved, I think of pretty much anywhere outside of real white-linen places as acceptable for kids.

Applebees and chilis are my go to places but pretty much any chain like that have good kids menus and high chairs.

Bob Evans is pretty popular out this way. They have kids nights. Plus N loves the fries there.

@sapphire: So sad! I moved away a couple years ago and when I come back to visit we usually go to our local favorites. (Like Kingfish Cafe, which also just closed-boo!)
