Where do you get your LO cheap bowls and plates?
I noticed Target has some for like .79 but would like them to hold up in the dishwasher at least, not sure if these would or not? I guess for that price it wouldn't hurt to try. Does anyone have them or something else cheap they can recommend?

I'm not sure if it's the exact ones you are looking at, but I got LO three divided plates at Target when we moved from just putting things on the high chair tray to using plates. So maybe around a year old? He's 2.5 and they are in ok shape after all that time and putting them in the dishwasher. We also have some character plates and bowls from Target that have held up well but they cost a little more. I also like the IKEA kids bowls and cups.

Not sure if you're interested in trying this, but we've never used special plates or bowls for LO; we just put her food onto one of our normal salad plates and put that on her tray. She has never tried to throw it or break it, I think because it's so heavy. The one time we were traveling and gave her a light plastic plate, she immediately tried to pick it up.

They aren't super cheap but these are going strong after a few years. Not microwave-safe though.

We have the target plastic ones and they've held up fine for a year in the dishwasher. They are still a good size for my 2.5 year old but also look decent.

I have a set of Ikea cups but they are all different colors. I haven't decided if that is good or bad yet. They have held up well too.

I have Target stuff and they've held up decently; I've bought stuff in the dollar spot and also stuff there are just a few bucks.

I've noticed the target stuff with images seems to peel after a while. The solid color plates are great but show knife scratches after a while (from cutting up their food).

@Bao: I like that they don't look like gross white stained kids plates. He can't use our regular plates because they break on our tile floor so I like to have something presentable.

@T.H.O.U.: this has been my experience also.
Anything with characters or designs from Target peels and gets returned pretty quickly even though I absolutely never buy stuff that is not dishwasher safe. I do like the plain plastic divided plates but they get scratched, which doesn't bother me since I have a couple of fancy Peter Rabbit sets that my kids can use when I set the table with nice things.

IKEA, we have several sets of the plates, bowls, cups and flatware. They're still going strong after 3 years of dishwasher, microwave, toddler abuse.

@PawPrints: Same. Our kids have broken maybe 1-2 plates/bowls apiece and rarely try to throw them or anything. (My husband has probably broken more over the same time period.) Everyone who comes over with young kids asks for plastic, though, so I finally caved and bought the colorful Ikea set.

Ikea and Target. We don't put the target plates/bowls in the dishwasher, and have yet to see them peel.

We didn't buy them, they were a gift but our Re-play divided plates are awesome. We've had them for 2 years now and they look brand new.

For plastic, we like the re:play (recycled) divided plates. They sell them in the baby section at Target and at boutiques.
We also do corelle salad plates and corelle miniature bowls. The tempered glass is durable. We have tiny glasses made from tempered glass I bought at World Market. And miniature silverware from World Market.

Another vote for RePlay. I've ordered most of our stuff from their website but you can get some things at Target and Walmart.
