Following onto my bedtime routine post ...what time does your kindergarten child go to bed? How many hours of sleep does this give them?
My child is supposed to be in bed at 7:40, so asleep by 8. She gets up around 7-7:30, giving her about 11-12 hours of sleep! Lately she’s been wanting to be up later, though, which makes me wonder if I’m trying to get her to bed too early.

That sounds pretty good. DD was an early riser up at 6ish so she went down at 7:30pm.
She's in 1st grade now so she is down and out around 8:15 and gets up closer to 6:30.

My son was in kindergarten last year. Bedtime was loosely between 7:30 and 8:00. He has never fought bedtime, so it wasn't an issue. Last year we would get up at 7:00 for school. This year as a first grader, bedtime is between 7:00 and 7:30, we have to be up at 6:00 to be on the school bus at 7:00. I assume this is the schedule we will have when my DD starts kinder.

B is not quite in kindergarten, but he goes to bed at 7:30 and we wake him up at 6. It’s too early for him, left to his own devices on the weekend he’ll sleep until 7 or 7:30, but we can’t change it.

7-7:30, only right at 7 if she’s tired. We have to get up at 6:30. She really needs the sleep but she’s always been that way.

aim to finish the bedtime routine and leave the room by 8; lo stays up and reads quietly and falls asleep anywhere between 8:30 and 9 PM.
I’m jealous of those who can get their children to go to sleep (or to their rooms) so early!

Bedtime is between 7:30 and 8. The problem sometimes is trouble falling asleep because he's not getting enough gross motor play, so I am trying to figure out a strategy to fix that.
Wakeup depends on the day, most days I try not to wake him up before 7, but some days, it's as early as 6.

Bedtime is lights out around 7-7:15, and she's up anywhere from 5:45 to 6:30 (usually earlier). She's always been an early riser no matter what her bedtime is, so early to bed, early to rise for her!

LO is in bed by 8 but usually doesn't fall asleep until 8:30. He wakes up between 6 - 7am, getting around 10 hours of sleep. He needs to be at the bus stop by 8. He is currently in 1st grade, but his sleep schedule hasn't changed since he started elementary.

Bedtime is 8:30 though he probably falls asleep closer to 9. I wake him up at 6:50ish, so he gets about 10 hours of sleep. He no longer naps at school. He had been on the low end of sleep needs his whole life.

My kindergartner's bed time is 8:30, and wake up time is 6:30. This is completely driven by my 4th grader's schedule, which is 8:30 bedtime, but often is 9. It would be ideal for my younger one to go to bed at 8, but it just doesn't work to send one to bed earlier right now.

Mine has always been an early riser, so we make sure he is in bed by 7-7:15pm so he is asleep by 7:30. He usually wakes up at 6. He needs time before we have to leave school, he doesn't do well when rushed. We have to leave the house by 7:30am if we are dropping baby brother off at daycare, otherwise we leave at 7:45.
The last couple of weeks he has been asking to go to bed around 6:30pm, but I have to push it to 7 otherwise he is up at 5am.

My kindergartener goes to bed at 8 (falls asleep right away) and wakes up at 7:30 or so. I'd say half the time he's awake when we get him at 7:30, half the time I have to wake him.

Lights are out at 7pm and she typically falls asleep pretty quickly. She has to be up at 6am so that we can be off to daycare (where she gets on the bus) by 7am. We've tried keeping her up later on the weekend, but she wakes up at the same time. So, then she is getting less sleep and becomes super cranky. So early to bed, it is! I can't complain to be honest. It's wonderful to have an hour or two before I go to bed to get stuff done around the house or just vege in front of the tv!

I forgot to vote number of hours. Bedtime is 8:00 and I wake her up at 6:30. So she's getting about 10 hours of sleep. Some nights she's quicker to sleep than others.
Also, most weekends she would wake about the same time naturally but would often take about an hour nap. Now in first grade it's pretty rare for her to nap, but she will sleep a little later on the weekends (7:00 - 7:30)

Goal is lights out around 7:45/8. She is usually asleep in 15 minutes or less. Up around 6 for the day. Never naps.
That is about 10 hours a night so I voted 9-10. We leave for school around 7:20 so it works for us.

@yoursilverlining: I was just thinking about jealous I am too. My 6 year old goes to his bedroom between 8-8:30 ish and I would say average falls asleep around 9ish. We get him up around 6:15. I think he needs more sleep.
