I know I'm probably the only one excited about this, but I had to share! My LO has cried every single day at preschool dropoff since the second day of school, back in the beginning of September. She has made it a good 6-8 school days with no crying. This is huge for her!
How is your LO doing with school/daycare dropoff? Are they usually excited to go, or a little more clingy?

What changes did you make or did she stop on her own?

@Mamaof2: We talked a lot about school, and why it's fun and that I will always come back, and her friends and teachers love her etc etc etc over Christmas break. Then right before we started a sticker chart, so if she doesn't cry at dropoff she gets a sticker. It must have clicked somehow that it really is ok, and school IS fun because it's working...she even asked to go to school today...it's seriously the best feeling ever. We had an appointment set up with her doctor but when she didn't cry that first week back we decided to wait on the appointment...glad we did!

@Bao: YAY !!! Such a good feeling. DS cried every day (except the very first day) since August when he started, until we just got back from Christmas break. I think he missed his friends and he realized how much more fun he had at school, and he's been doing awesome since he started back. It feels so much better than we he was screaming at drop off.

Victory! My LO is 50-50 on crying these days. Usually he cries on Mondays (or Tuesdays that feel like Mondays, like today) but he was fine today! Probably cause they were going right into breakfast and he loves to eat at school (unlike at home.)

DS1 also cries every day. It's heart wrenching.
I've found for him, he does much better when we show up "late" or right when the classes are walking upstairs. He can't handle waiting in a line until the teacher comes down to walk them to class....the anticipation really overwhelms him.

@ValentineMommy: I think that was what was triggering part of LO's anxiety too, was the waiting...because some of the days she would be ok in the car and walking in and then would meltdown after a few minutes of waiting.
