Did you change your makeup/nail polish brands during pregnancy? I'm trying to see if it's necessary to change some of my products and I would like see what are recommended alternatives.

I switched to Zoya nail polish, which is free of nasty chemicals.

Yes! I heard about Zoya and I'm looking forward to using it. Thanks for the link!

I used Zoya pre-preg anyway.... and still use Essie. I didn't change any of my makeup products, just stopped using DH's acne meds!

Thanks @MrsJYW. I bought so much Essie nail polish during the summer months it's so sad to not use them.. I think the first trimester I'd prefer to use the Zoya or Butter nail polishes. I use Laura Mercier makeup products so I'm hoping it's safe to use during pregnancy!

I'm using a lot of cosmetics from the Tarte line. It's all paraben, phthalate, and synthetic fragrance free. If you're avoiding retinyl palmitate, you still have to check ingredients, especially in lipsticks/glosses. I've found that most MAC lipsticks have no retinyl palmitate. Zoya polishes and remover are great.

In my first pregnancy I avoided nail polish because it was hard for me to get ahold of the "OK" kind. This time around I have painted my nails a few times with normal nail polish. I've heard the problem is really the fumes, so as long as you're someplace well ventilated as the polish is applied and dries, you're OK.

No I didn't change, my doctor told me there wasn't enough chemicals in these products to cause an issue.

@jerricabenton: that's good to know! I didn't think about lipstick too much.
I checked the back of my Laura Mericier tinted moisturizer and one of the active ingredients is ethylhexyl salicylate, is that in the same family of salicylic acid?
I'm kind of bummed, but I guess this brings more reason to go to Sephora and Ulta.

I used the same makeup and polish too. Except anything with salicylic acid. I stopped use those things. But everything else I kept the same.

I'm the same as @jessiejo17. I used Bare Minerals before pregnancy anyway, but I've been getting regular (monthly) pedis at a salon with OPI polish.
I also spot treat with acne stuff from target - I think it's benzoyl peroxide, or salicylic acid, I'm not sure which and too lazy to look.
