    @NaturallyCathy: sounds cute!!!

So I just went to the bathroom, had a good amount of discharge but it looked different. I totally googled mucus plug pictures and I think that is what it was. It wasn't a huge amount but some progress.

@Smurfette: I think everyone is going to have their babies before me. lol
    Has your baby dropped yet?

  3. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Arden: A couple ladies at work think so but I don't see a difference. I still think I won't go into labor until the week of the 11th or she is going to be a week late.

@Smurfette: Mine baby is so high. The midwife commented "Wow baby, you really like to stay up there don't you? Close to Mommy's heart? Well stop it! Scoot!" It was kind of funny, but I seriously can't wait for her to drop so I can breathe and have less heartburn!

@katiew92081: Sorry to hear about you BP. Do you have a regular OB you can call and consult with in addition to your midwife?

@NaturallyCathy: Aww... hang in there girl! It's like watching grass grow isn't it? I've been just trying to savor and remember every little movement of baby inside and enjoying the peace right now. And CONGRATS on the new house! New house projects and to-do's should help take your min off of "when is baby coming?" And your nursery idea sounds really cute and unique!

@Smurfette: Yay for progress! I swear I'm a little obsessed about the mucous plug. So curious for if/when it will come for me!

@Arden: Girl - you and me BOTH man! Baby girl is so high up in my ribs it's so painful! But at the same time, they tell me she is so low down there too! It's cuz I'm so short - nowhere for her to go! But the OB did say she's higher than 2 weeks ago, so my girl is trying to swim her way upstream and probably doesn't want to come out!

I'm officially on rest. I can get up now and then but any house work or anything is taboo. Bp was 153/90 this morning which is the most its been. So I am to rest now. Sucks cause I feel like I have soooo much to do and I cant do any of it.

@katiew92081: Sorry to hear about your bed rest situation I can't imagine being told not to do much. It would drive me stir crazy just by being -told- not to do anything, let alone not actually doing anything... Puzzle books maybe? Catch up on Downton Abbey (if you like the show)?

In other news (that I hope doesn't jinx the situation), I think I might actually get to see March before this baby's born!

@naturallycathy: Well, in my time zone, you only have 13 more hours to go! It would be crazy if your little one squeaked into February at the last minute, haha.

I'm pretty frustrated by bed rest. I'm grateful that ds goes to kindergarten, so I have the time to rest, but at the same time, I really could be using this time to get things done. I feel like my apt is sooo cluttered and messy, and now I can't really do anything about it. Except putting ds to work when he gets home from school. Maybe I'll take him shopping for helping me, lol. I always feel bad asking a 5 year old to help so much, but maybe he's learning something, lol.

@katiew92081: In mine, I have fourteen. But I haven't had any contractions today (knock on wood) and I'm feeling pretty good, even if the weather is still making my head hurt. Stupid cold front.

As for putting your five year old to work, I would say it is teaching him something some thirty year olds don't know how to do? Take care of themselves. Something I wish my four year old baby cousin knew how to do but then again, he's spoiled rotten and my aunt doesn't really know how to raise children. I think she had one just so she would feel 'complete' and then didn't feel that way once she had one. If you know what I mean...

Besides, maybe your little man is seeing it as getting ready for the baby? Being a big brother and helpful and responsible? All good things! And shopping as a reward sounds awesome to me.

  10. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@naturallycathy: Yeah, he's happy to help, really. And, he's more than ready for the baby to come, too. He knows that if I'm in labor, my mom will be the one picking him up from school. So, he says he looks for her car every day after school and is always disappointed to see my car instead, lol.

I think I can get away with just downloading an app on the kindle for him, lol.

@katiew92081: Aww, I am sorry!! I know that has to be so hard. Don't feel bad about asking DS to help. My parent's always said they had children cause they believed in child labor It is good for him. My Mom went away to college and didn't even know how to make a bed cause her Mom just did everything.

@shopaholic: @Smurfette: Thanks so much- i am feeling a bit better today. I think I am just getting a cold or something- but i felt reassured that everything was ok when I met with my midwife this morning!
@katiew92081: Aww sorry to hear you are on bed rest! Fingers crossed your baby makes an appearance soon!
@NaturallyCathy: Congratulations on the house! So exciting!!

Had my GBS test this morning- just waiting for the results now. Cant believe March is tomorrow!! Yikes!! I still have too many things to do before my little man is here!

@katiew92081: Sorry to hear you are on bed rest. IDK what could make it better - maybe find a series of shows to get totally sucked into and watch a whole season? Knit something for the baby? It will be good practice for you DS to get used to helping out and nice that he seems to be so willing and eager for baby to arrive too.

@NaturallyCathy: Yay for you almost making it to Feb.!

@cheert16: Hopefully it's going away soon. I've been terribly congested (even more so than usual, which is saying something!) I think it's mostly allergies though because we have been having crazy Santa Ana Winds.

I think the baby has dropped a little bit more today. I woke up to my stomach literally looking like I have a ball inside. But there seems to be a little more space between my boobs and the belly! And I'm STARVING - so off to go get a big brunch!

@shopaholic: Oh i wish my nose was stuffy becasue of beautiful california winds- unfortunatly its 30 here today and I am looking out my office window at gross brown snow- oh man I need trip to somewhere sunny and warm!

I wish I could knit! Maybe now is a good time to learn?

My doctor's appointment was uneventful this morning. BP was fine, measuring on track and heart-rate was 149. She did tell me that next week to be prepared to get undressed for a cervical check. I told her I thought I lost my mucus plug, she well you know it doesn't really mean anything, I said I know, but at least something is happening down there.

She did ask me how long I was planning to work. I told her up until labor, but my boss said that I can work from home if I need to. She suggested to start that so I can elevate my feet more, even though my swellng isn't really bad. My boss said do whatever you need too, so next week I am working from home Tues and Thurs. Already looking forward to that. Sweats all day, sound heavenly!

Well I have great guys! Ds came home from school and picked up the house and dh came home early from work and ordered pizza for dinner. Even the cats are sweet and keeping me company while I'm stuck at rest.

So now I have a clean house, a fed family and my bp got to stay low.

Now all I need is this baby!!

Hey look, we (those of us who haven't given birth yet) have made it to March! Woo hoo!!!

I was seriously beginning to doubt that I would ever see March without this babe makig a surprise and early arrival. Just a few more days until my due date!

  22. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

    @naturallycathy: Yeah, it's March! I didn't think I'd be here, either!

  23. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@NaturallyCathy: So crazy it is March! I was thinking this morning driving to work. I will have a baby in my arms in 23 days or less (since my doctor will only go a week past due date). I hope she comes before though.
The house looks great and I can't believe that you got it for that cheap! I don't think you can even buy a condo for that cheap in Atlanta. So jealous!

  24. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

@Smurfette: It was originally on the market for a year before the bank foreclosed on it. So it's a Fannie Mae Homepath home (or was until we bought it). Believe it or not, our current house is 1,100 square feet and is worth about as much as we bought that house for! It's like a fairy tale and we found a glass slipper.

@katiew92081: Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! I was thinking of you when I posted it

@naturallycathy: we're hoping to luck out on homepath, too. There's literally nothing in our area, though, that meets our criteria. It's driving us crazy. Whenever something DOES pop up, it's gone within days.

    I love your door knobs!!

I've decided I want to go into labor on March 16 or 17.

Alternatively, I could live with March 23 or 24. No later than the 24th though.

You hear that baby? Those are your marching orders! Get into position.

The 9th or 10th would even work, but I won't be quite prepared by then, so if you're going to come early, do give me a head's up, k? Thanks.

@katiew92081: They are EVERYWHERE and I'm simply ga-ga over them. I love how they make every room seem like a little treasure, waiting to be opened. I would have posted some room shots but my rinky dinky little iPhone doesn't like to take wide shots. Or if it does, I haven't figured it out yet. The windows are great too, very craftsman.

@Arden: This sounds like a few notes -I've- written to my unborn child. Love it

  31. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Arden: I really want her to come on the 14th, since that was my great-grandma's birthday. She passed away in October and would have been 104 this year.

As cool as it would be for her to be born on her due date, esp. since we have an Irish last name, I really don't want her too. I just keep thinking once she gets older her friends are going to go out drinking for St Patty's Day, so I want her to have her own day to celebrate. Is it weird that she isn't here yet and I am already thinking about her 21st bday? haha

Would be so great if they would just come when we want them too!!

  32. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

@Smurfette: Not weird, sweet. I haven't even gotten past birthday 5 yet in terms of planning for Henry but I'm excited to see how he'll grow into a man. Is it weird I hope he's like his daddy?

And I want mine to come Sunday. When there's no chance of snow. Or little chance of it. After we've got some moving done. But that's just me Before my sister arrives, after some moving is done. Would be perfect.

  33. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@smurfette: I'm dreading St. Patty's Day, too. I would just be torn, cause I love that holiday, and I would have to make her wear green and be all Irishy every year on her bday, lol.

I've been trying some mind over matter stuff, but it's not working. You can't just meditate a baby out, I guess, lol.

  34. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

My blood pressure is still high, so my midwife is wanting to do blood work today. She doesn't want me driving, so my mom is coming to get me and take me there.

  35. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

Ok, so just got back from the midwife...

Blood pressure issues seem more about gestational hypertension rather than pre-e. I still need to rest, but I also need to walk a lot. She took labs to check my liver enzymes...pretty much to double check that her hunch is right and there's no real reason to be alarmed.

She gave me a list of natural herbs for inducing labor. She says "the sooner this girl comes the better!" Evening primrose oil, red raspberry leaf tea, walking and eating cucumbers or other types of melon (I think that's more for getting the water out of my system).

No one wants to medically induce, so we're going the herbal route and seeing how that works.

I told baby girl that if she comes today I'll buy her a puppy when she asks when she's older, haha. My midwife said to watch what I promise, lol. But, I totally would buy her a puppy. Or a pony...we're animal people in this house.

  36. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@katiew92081: Glad that you don't have pre-e. Good Luck trying to get things moving along. Did she say how long she would let you go before inducing you?

I love you promised her a puppy!

  38. Dandelion

@smurfette: We didn't even talk about inducing medically. I think their limit at the birth center is 42 weeks, which I cannot imagine going that far. I'm not saying it's not possible, but I don't even want to think about that, lol.

  39. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@katiew92081: I didn't know if she would do earlier cause of the gestational hypertension. 42 weeks sounds miserable. I am really hoping my hunch is wrong and baby isn't late. I can't imagine being 41 weeks, nor do I want to be induced.
    @Arden: love it!

  40. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@katiew92081: The limit at my birth center is also 42 weeks. If I go past that and choose not to be induced I would have to transfer care to the hospital.

So glad you don't have pre-e!
