Thanks for starting this post! I was trying to look through the boards for a May 2013 mommy or baby group but didn't see one. I'll have to come back & update later. Getting LO ready for a fun weekend of birthday parties and family outings. Have a great weekend fellow May babies and mommies.

Delivery details: Homebirth.
Birth stats: 8lbs 0.5oz 21"
Key milestones: Loves to smile & laugh, puts everything in her mouth, can sit up on her own for a few seconds, rolls all over the place, gets on hands and knees like she's going to crawl but ends up just launching herself forward, loves to blow raspberries & "talks" & grunts all the time.
How's feeding going: Great! We're EBF. She's a total boob girl & hates bottles & pacis.
How's sleep going: Started sttn at 2 months. Struggling with naps this month though!
Other details: I love this girl so much! Was never prepared to how attached she is to me. She's got separation anxiety and wants me all of the time--which is sweet but exhausting somedays.

DOB: May 19
Due date: May 24
Delivery details: Vaginal birth with epi. 14 hours active labor with 2 hours of pushing. Episiotomy unfortunately.
Birth stats: 8 lbs. 15 oz. 20.5 in.
Key milestones: He is a rolling maniac - if only he would stop rolling over in his sleep
How's feeding going: Good, but I think he's in a growth spurt, eating every 2 or so hours, all day long
How's sleep going: It was going pretty well until he started rolling back to belly and getting mad he's on his belly. Before this recent unpleasantness, he was sleeping about 12 hours with one wake up, STTN a few times. But I can't seem to get him to take a consistent bed time, I have tried all different times and unless he's showing tired signs (but not too tired) he's a monster to get to sleep.

This board is a little slow but I wondered how everyone is doing with the 4 month sleep regression. It has hit us pretty hard with L rolling over in his sleep and crying when he can't figure out the way back and just being constantly hungry, he's up every 3 hours. But on the sunny front, his naps are getting better and more predictable. Anyone else struggling with nighttime sleep?

LO's name: Jack
DOB: 6.2.13
Due date: 5.25.13
Delivery details: Pitocin induced unmedicated delivery. 11 hours of labor, 1 hour of pushing. 3rd degree tears (internal and external as well as labial--yikes) and blood transfusion slowly starting to feel somewhat normal after two silver nitrate treatments to remove scar tissue
Birth stats: 8 lbs 2 oz 20 1/2 in
Key milestones: Smiles, giggles, has a BIG voice that he loves to use! Has rolled over a couple of a times but not regularly. Grasps with intention.
How's feeding going: Breastfeeding was SO HARD for me in the beginning. We supplemented with formula for the first 4 weeks and cut it out completely after that. Had to use the nipple shield for the first 9 weeks. BFing has been much better since then but he can be a distracted nurser which makes nursing in public very frustrating sometimes! We do occasionally do pumped bottles (esp so mama can get some time out alone!).
How's sleep going: Meh some days are better than others. We've had a couple fluke 9/10 hours stretches. Mostly it is bedtime around 7:30/8, wake up at either 2 or 4 and up again at 5 or 6 when he's up for the day.
Other details: Love this kid to bits. He is SO funny, silly, sweet and sensitive. It is amazing how their personalities are apparent so early on.

Delivery details: started having contractions around 8pm on 5/1, delivered vag, with an epi at 9:15am. I only needed 1 stitch
Birth stats: 7lb 8.5 oz & 20.5"
Key milestones: rolling from front to back, can sit up in a tripod stance.
How's feeding going: still 100% ebf
How's sleep going: he's been sleeping through the night since about 6 weeks.
Other details: we are definitely teething
Current stats- 25.5" & 13lbs 13oz

@Cupcake: what a cutie! what does sleeping through the night mean for you guys? We have good nights and bad and I am trying go get him to eat more during the day to cut out his night wakings. His 4 am feed seems like a big meal to him--a 25 minute feed!

@maybebaby: J goes down around 8ish and wakes up around 7ish/730. She eats for a good 20-30 minutes first thing in the morning too. I've actually done a weighed feed to see how much she eats in the mornings and it's usully 7.5-8 oz all from one side. Have you tried doing a dream feed to maybe get him to wake up a little later?

@maybebaby: We go down between 8-9 and sleep until 6:30ish and then back down for anywhere from an hour to 2!@Ms.Badger: @emg86: thanks!!

@maybebaby: we are going through the same thing, it's exhausting! (Except I'm a little jealous you got a 4 hour stretch in there). I feel like i have tried everything but its not working. If you figure out any tricks let me know.

We also only get a 6 hr stretch. 7:30-2, then 4, up at 5:30 for the day...dream feeds have never worked. I am also convinced LO will never STTN

Hi all, excited that there's a new, hopefully active, May board!

We just moved overseas with our baby girl L after a summer of both of us being home and traveling quite a bit. I posted earlier about getting LO used to a babysitter, who is starting 8 hrs/week tomorrow. I'll be home with her otherwise, except for a couple of afternoons that my husband will watch her.

LO's name: L
DOB: 5/21/13
Due date: 5/17/13
Delivery details: superfast, woke up in labor at 2 am, got to the hospital at 5 am, delivered LO just before 8 am. No drugs, 2nd degree tears. My midwife fell asleep after I called her and didn't arrive til it was time to push (50 minutes of pushing), but hey. It makes a good story?
Birth stats: 7 lbs 11 oz. No idea how long! But now she's epically long... something like the 98th percentile for height?
Key milestones: Laughing!! My favorite. Rolling over back to front which has contributed to a nasty sleep regression. Lots of grabbing, picking things up, and mouthing. Sitting in a high chair with the help of an infant insert.
How's feeding going: Great; still EBF but I've become [irrationally?] worried about my supply in the last week or two. I think it's just settling in finally, but I was used to feeling full all the time and now I'm not. Eek!
How's sleep going: Great, all things considered. LO has been sleeping through the night since week 2. She goes down around 8:30 or 9:30 and sleeps until 6:30 - 8:30, and if she wakes up close to 6:30 we can get another hour or two out of her after a feed. Except now that she is more mobile, she's waking herself up between 4:00 and 5:30 and needing to be flipped and soothed (no nursing) by the husband. It's getting old, but I know I can't complain too much. She's also a terrible napper. I'm trying to begin a routine now that I'm home with her alone half time, but it's tricky. She used to go down drowsy before she could roll, but now she needs to be nursed to sleep pretty much, and she rarely makes it past one sleep cycle, if that. I know napping is often a struggle with babies who STTN... sounds like a few other people are having this issue! Trying to decide how much to push it and how much to just go with the flow until her sleep patterns shift a bit.
Other details: She's adorable! It's surprising to me how she's already starting to get attached to toys and get frustrated with them... if I give her a spatula to play with and she can't figure out what to do with it (i.e. how to get it in her mouth), she cries. I'm finding this slightly irritating, actually, I think in part because I know this is how it will be for the next 18 years! Gotta work on my feelings about that.

@emg86: We have just started with separation anxiety, too. Sweet but... yeah. I feel you.

@mssally: Thanks for starting this thread!! I was too frustrated with LO's sleep to write a proper intro last night, so here goes

LO's name: A

DOB: 5/23/2013

Due date: 5/6/2013

Delivery details: My water broke in my sleep 3 weeks early! Labored unmedicated for 17 hours, they brought in the baby warming table and said it was almost time to push, then checked me and I was 1 cm dilated. Everyone freaked. They did an ultrasound and baby's head was in a weird position and my cervix was sealed shut from scar tissue due to a former LEEP (they think). Since my water had already broken, they urged me to do an epi and pitocin after breaking through the tissue with her hand (OW!!). I did, dilated to an 8 in the next couple of hours, and when I said "I think I might be ready to start pushing?" they checked me and I was crowning. Baby was born in 3 pushes, 24 hours start to finish. 2nd degree tears but relatively easy recovery otherwise.

Birth stats: 6 lb 8oz, 20.5"

Key milestones: She's growing so much these days!! Reaching for things, amazing dexterity, starting to laugh, seems like she's trying to roll back to front, but not yet.

How's feeding going: Great, still EBFing, but her sleep is so poor I'm starting to wonder if I have a supply issue. Also now that I'm back at work, I'm not pumping enough to keep up with her intake, so we'll likely be supplementing soon once my freezer stash runs out.

How's sleep going: NOT GOOD. At 4 months she was sleeping 7:30-5:30 with one waking at 4am to eat. Now we're back at 2 wakings most nights, 2am and 4am. It's not really a regression, I just don't know what happened

@mssally: that anchor dress is KILLER! Where did you get it??

@mssally: I think I better buy the white noise machine. Is the machine better than white noise "songs" that I can play from my iPod through a speaker? We already have that set up for music but if there's a difference I'll get a dedicated machine.

@maybebaby: Jack is too cute, he is so stylish! I am loving his fall attire, we are looking forward to fall weather.
