If you had a scheduled birth was it a morning or evening time frame? What was the reasoning?
I'm thinking I'll prefer a morning time frame?!

We had one scheduled for really early in the morning. I ended up going into labor on my own, but from my vague recollection, I think my ob only scheduled them in the morning, or at least that week for me!

I went in at 5pm to start 12 hour round of cervidil, with the plan being I'd give birth sometime the next day.

My induction was scheduled for 1am or something ridiculous like that. I wasn't given an option though-- that was how the OB/hospital handled things. I know other friends who went to the dr's office in the evening for cervadil (sp?-- the stuff they often apply topically first before starting pitocin to see if it will get things going) and then are admitted to the hospital the next morning. If I had to do it again, I would probably ask if that was an option. If you have a choice, I would definitely say going in the morning is better than night-- it was very hard (for me at least) to get any rest while in the hospital and so I started parenthood out in a sleep deficit!
ETA I should say that my induction was considered medically necessary so I don't know if that made a difference in terms of having me come in at 1am. But like @t.h.o.u.'s first experience-- DD wasn't born until close to 30 hours later (I was 39w6d and only 1 cm when I went in)!

Around here they give you an idea of the time but basically call when there is room. So they might say be ready by 9am, we'll call you and if it's busy with mamas coming in to deliver you might not get on until later that day or the next day

next day! That's crazy. But yeah my cousins daughter had a scheduled induction for her twins early in the morning and they couldn't get her in till later in the evening.

@regberadaisy: oh yeah, if it's not medically necessary but just going post dates you get pushed back. My SIL was bumped back 2 days because there wasn't room for her. She was only 40+1 and ended up going in to labour on her own before they called her on 40+3

I arrived in the afternoon but it took several rounds of Cervadil and Pitocin all night to get anything started, so I didn't go into labor until the next day.

My induction at 41+6 was scheduled for 6am but got pushed back until 9am due to a full L&D. I loved that it was in the morning...it was nice to have had a full night's sleep beforehand. We did end up getting there at 9 but the induction wasn't started until noon (paperwork and IV and stuff took time) and DD was out by 3:50pm.

Mine was a morning appointment but it took 5 days to start labour so it didn't really matter in the end!!

For inductions with my OB they have you come to the hospital the night before and do either cervidil or Foley catheter. Then they give you some ambien so you can sleep and the next morning they start pitocin. I imagine if you're already dilated a couple centimeters you could opt to start in the morning.

First time I wasn't favorable so we started with cervidil at night. She was born about 30 hours later (went in on Tuesday night born early Thursday morning)
Second time I was favorable so we started with pitocin in the morning. He was born about 20 hours later.

I'd pick evening. I had an unexpected induction at 10am and it sucked bc things didn't get serious until evening. If I'd gone in at 8 pm I could've slept a little!

Morning Bc with T I went to the hospital at 6pm and even bough I got a an epidural at midnight I couldn't sleep all night and was delirious later that day
