I'm not supposed to do anything for Mother's Day for my MIL, am I?
If we lived closer and all got together on Mother's Day, I might say something to her. But it would feel weird if I called her out of the blue, since mostly we just text! Or more specifically, I text her pics and videos of the kids and she writes back now and then.
Do you say (or do) something for your MIL on Mother's Day?

We send her something (flowers or a gift) from all of us, and we skype her all together. But I don't go out of my way to do something specifically just from me.

We send both grandmothers flowers, a card, and a photo calendar every year, from all of us.

I don't, no. We're not close at all though - if anything our relationship is very strained.

She is a Step-MIL, but we send her a card. I will send her a picture of LO in a text but that is all. DH isn't close to her so we don't do much.

DH and I call our moms together and send gifts from both of us.

We gets together with both sides of the family so I do out some things together for my mother in law. In general I take care of the gifts and my husband plans the activities. I bought my mother and mother in law gifts. Then my husband bought tickets to a play and made reservations for brunch. So we kind of split the duties. If I wasn't going to see my mother in law I would still help get the presents sent to her in a timely matter. I am just better at thinking about those things

The only thing I do for my MIL is try to convince my husband to call her!
If we were going to get her anything though, it would probably be from both of us (just like we both pay for the lunch we buy my mom).

Usually, nothing at all, but this year I will see her and wish her a Happy Mother's Day in person. When she receives her card that only has her son's name on it she will probably notice I wrote it and addressed the envelope.

@mrbee: I say happy Mother's Day to my MIL. I'm also the one that orchestrates brunch/gets the gift for my MIL. I don't think it's weird.

We usually send flowers to my MIL. DH hasn't asked me to order them. Hmmm, it's probably too late but I'll remind the DH.
Though we are going to reveal our babies' genders soon. He must be distracted with that impending news.

I sent cards from DH and I and a separate one from J and we will call. Same we're doing with my mom.

no, we're not close at all. When dh and I were dating, I got her flowers a couple times for Mother's Day, but she was a lot less crazy back then. Last year she got really mad because when DH went to visit her he didn't bring our daughters. She said it's mother's day and she should see the grandkids. They were with me ( their actual mother) and we were visiting my mom. haha as you can tell it still annoys me.

I generally remind my husband that mother's day is coming up soon and give him suggestions about what we can do/get for his mother (her birthday is also usually around mother's day). He's a forgetful sweetheart so as long as I remind him things are coming up he's really good about getting a gift and writing a heartfelt letter. But I don't do anything that's from me to her.

For both our mothers, we call and say Happy Mother's Day, that's about it (I also get on the phone and wish MIL a Happy Mother's Day). I am grateful that she raised such a good son, but I think it would make everyone embarrassed if I were that sappy on the phone.
Luckily for us, In-laws and my mom are all really low key, so they don't expect extravagant displays of affection. Phone calls/skype or the occasional gift are enough!

My own mother is super far away but I live in the same city as my MIL so we will definitely see her. I haven't organised a present or a card, and I'm sure my husband hasn't either!

I make sure DH calls her and I try to convince him to send flowers (they live in another state). We get along, but she's not my Mom and the day to me is about you celebrating your mother.

@mrbee: Dh and I get her a combo gift and I usually get her a card. She's great and my mom passed away, so i steal her for mothers day.

Historically haven't done anything for her. My sister and I make a big deal out of my mom so I feel bad for mil. But dh wasn't doing anything before me, so I didn't steal her day or anything...

I pick out a gift for MIL from DH and me and this year I'm going to try to do some sort of (last minute)craft/art for her from the kids. We are also going to visit her and have brunch together. DH doesn't do anything for my mom on Mother's Day, though, beyond saying hi while we are FaceTiming!

I pick out gifts from both, sign both our names on the card, and have recently started sending flowers. We have a very strained relationship, and DH is not close to her at all, but it's whatever.

I got her a card and my husband planted a huge garden for her. I will definitely call or text but won't see her. It's only one day and it's my day too so I didn't want to over-schedule.

I'm the gift coordinator of the house so I got gifts and cards for both our moms. My husband is a sweet and wonderful man, but picking out cards or gifts is not his strong suit so I've just taken that part of our lives over!
We made them flower pots with LO's handprints painted on them and filled them with some pretty flowers.

We sign things from both of us to both moms. This year we sent flowers. Last year I ordered mugs with pics from lo's newborn session.

Yes, we do a card and a small gift. This year it's a sugar dish from the pattern she collects- I pick up prices of her pattern when I see them antiquing and stash them away in my future gifts cabinet so I always have something on hand.

Always acknowledge mothers days with mil. She lives locally so we celebrate with her. A little frustrating this year....
I handle all gift buying in our relationship.
