Normal?
Anyone else's LO do this?
He eats with his right hand though. And usually starts writing/drawing with his right but often ends up using his left too.

My 3 yo does this too and I've been wondering the same thing! I have no advice but I planned to ask his doctor about it when he goes in this week.

I did this until I went to kindergarten, and now I'm left-handed ... but I cut and color with my right hand. I think I'm a pretty normal human (lol), and my parents got the advice to let it ride - to not force one hand or the other. This was advice they received in the 80's, but I feel like there's gotta be some strength to that argument still.

My 2y9m old does this, although hes still young. but he has chosen to write mostly with his left, although i've seen him switch to right so maybe he's ambidextrous? i think its fun, no one in our immediate families are leftys so not sure where he got it from! ppl i've told this to tell me to sign him up for baseball asap.

Yes, my 4 year old uses boths hands too! I was ambidextrous as a kid too, and am oddly stronger with my left hand/side doing certain activities even though I primarily eat and write with my right hand.

My four year old does this too. He refuses to write letters at home (but he'll write his name at school), and all his drawings are still scribble (no faces, no stick figures). I work at an elementary school and I asked the head of early childhood about it. She said it's totally normal and age appropriate, especially for boys. She gave me some tips for helping his grip but basically said not to worry!

Our pediatrician told us it's totally normal and can actually be really helpful because they'll sometimes learn to use both hands for some tasks. My son favors his left and as a lefty myself, I'd be happy for him if he can use his right hand for scissors! So just to offer a pen, fork, whatever and let him use whatever hand he prefers.

My oldest seems to pretty clearly favor her left hand for writing and coloring and eating, but will do some other things with her right more often--like if she is helping me cook, she'll stir with her right hand (maybe mimicking me?), or throw with her right hand.
