I voted Boppy, but to be honest, I haven't tried the other one. I just thought it looked way too cumbersome to get set up for every feeding, especially in the early days.

I vote Boppy, and I know that every other twin mama will disagree with me, but I liked it a lot to use for nursing. That, and it doubles as a kid holder when not nursing! Anything else was too big for me.

Boppy! My breast friend was comfy for me but it didn't really prop LO in a way that worked for us. I really don't know how else to describe what the issue was.

Here's my entire take on it! http://www.hellobee.com/2013/07/05/nursing-pillow-showdown-boppy-vs-my-brest-friend/
I would have a hard time choosing, but if I had to choose one I'd choose Brest Friend because I used that the most when Breastfeeding was just getting established.

Both.
We had Boppy in the beginning and it killed my back. My Brest Friend is better for the first 4 months because it's more rigid so you can strap it to your waist and put the baby on it. And baby doesn't fall into the space between you and Boppy because the Brest Friend fits close to your waist.
The Boppy worked great once LO was bigger.

I was going to register for a Boppy but someone gave me My Brest Friend... And my friend highly recommends it over Boppy after trying both. I guess I'll see!

MBF was MUCH MUCH better when LO was itty bitty! with the boppy, she just fell through the gap between my stomach and the pillow when she was small. I actually have both and it made things easier--I didn't have to lug the pillow around since I nursed in the nursery and living room during different parts of the day

I never used the Boppy but I looooooved my Brest Friend, and still use it at 8 months for night feeds. I have a really bad lower back and loved the support it gave me in the early days when I was constantly nursing. Also it was good for my son to sleep on between feeds in the early days.

Haha, I'm writing this on my phone that is propped up on my MBF. As others have said above, it has been a lifesaver for when dd is small, and unlike the boppy, since it latches, it doesn't move around at all. Sometimes I just leave it latched in between sides and will hop up to refill a water bottle. It looks weird walking around like that, but it works!
I have both though, and got them super cheap on woot.com, they have sales on both pretty frequently.

I loved MBF!!! I love that there is a strap on it when I had to get up and get something!!

I've only tried the boppy, but was happy with it last time. I would go with whatever one you can find for cheaper since it seems there is never a clear cut winner between the two.

The Boppy was useless for us when DD was tiny. It didn't provide any support and she slipped down in the space between me and the pillow. I am eternally grateful to my cousin for sending us her hand-me-down MBF. After a few months, the Boppy was okay but by that point, we'd learned to BF without a pillow (so much easier once you get the hang of it).

this is very interesting! i hated the Boppy so much! i ran out and got the MBF the day after I came home from the hospital, and I have loved it ever since. I never felt completely comfortable with the Boppy, like I didn't know how to use it or something. I feel very awkward with it. I felt much more secure with the MBF, not to mention you can walk around with it strapped around your waist, and baby nursing! haha. (Don't knock it till you've tried it! )

brest friend! i love that it clicked around me and held baby up, especially in the early days. i used it a ton and then she was too big so we used a pillow for a bit until i got better.

Currently nursing my 15 month old on my My Brest Friend. I've used boppys and just don't like them nearly as much for nursing. However they are more helpful for things like propping baby up later on. But I feel like the beginning is when you NEED a pillow the most.
Team MBF here.

I have both. I vote Boppy. I liked the MBF for the very early days because the added structure works well for teeny tiny floppy babies. But now I only use the boppy because I find it more versatile in terms of the positions he can be in as he gets older and just generally less cumbersome.

I initially avoided the MBF because oh my God, the name. But, the Boppy just didn't have enough structure/support for me.

I started with MBF pillow when DD was a newborn and just found it uncomfortable. The part on my back hurt when I was sitting on the couch, and I still had to prop her up with pillows on top of the nursing pillow. I liked the Boppy much better.

I started with a boppy, but used a MBF at a breastfeeding support group and preferred it a lot more, so I got one of those. This probably depends on your boob size and how well your LO latches, but my LO had a terrible, terrible latch and really required one hand behind her head to position it and the other hand to open her lips a little--and since the MBF had a strap, it stayed put more. The boppy would slide out and drive me crazy.

I've only ever used the Boppy, and I would agree with others that when baby is itty bitty, it's hard to use and not super helpful. But I always nursed with it and by the end of our nursing relationship, I could just plop him on the Boppy and nurse hands-free, which was awesome. I really loved the Boppy by the end.

I had both and preferred the MBF! Like others have said, the boppy wasn't as good when DS was little! I liked the strap around me because I'd forget something and have to get up and I wouldn't have to totally resituate once I sat back down.

I had the boppy last time and my tiny baby would fall right in the hole between the pillow and my belly. Just not enough support! I would have to pack that hole with swaddle blankets and it was a major pain. I bought a MBF for baby #2 so I'm going to try that out.

@Mrs. High Heels: I would say that ease of use would go to the Breast Friend. It was much easier to adjust and have stay in place. The hoppy constantly slid around or had to be propped up by extra pillows.
I saw buy the breast friend and look for a used hoppy.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@MrsF: that's exactly what I hate about the hoppy and I love the BF for being able to be tightened and stays in place!

I was not a fan of My Breast Friend, but loved my Boppy so much that we got a second one to keep upstairs.

I've used both, and the Brest Friend works way better. It is annoying having to clip it on while holding a baby, but it's doable. I was told by a LC that the Boppy wasn't made for breastfeeding, and it doesn't help you get positioned correctly. I've propped DS on it a few times too, but he kinda falls into the hole (maybe I'm doing it wrong?)

I've used both and mbf is way better. We overnighted one after we met with our lc and used one. So good. I would clip it and then DH would bring her to me. It has a pocket and I would keep a Kleenex and my nipple cream in there. I could sit on the couch and LO could lounge on top and it gave great support. It's worth it.

@T.H.O.U.: I agree the MBF was easier to adjust and stay in place, but I think the Boppy is easy in the sense that you don't need to clip it around or anything - you can grab it one handed and just plop it on your lap and around your waist. I also felt like it was more versatile.. I always had trouble sitting on my glider with the my brest friend because my glider was on the narrow side.

This was on my unnecessary list. Regular pillows worked fine. I got one for super cheap (one of this free deals but you pay $10 to ship it) and it was great for tummy time and propping her up to drink a bottle here and there.

For the first couple of months my Brest friend was one of my top 5 most essential items.

I hated my boppy (so much I gave it away!). After my boppy I got MBF and I love that thing! I love the little storage pocket and everything. I was super happy with it!

Hated my MBF. Gave up and used normal pillows until one day I was visiting a friend who offered to let me use her Boppy. I ordered one that night and haven't looked back.

I used both for quite a while, so I recommend getting both if possible. But at 12 months I still use the My Brest Friend every day. I'd go through phases where I preferred one over the other but MBF wins out overall for me.
