E is almost 10 months old and is pulling up on furniture and cruising slightly and obviously will walk eventually (probably sooner then I will be totally prepared for) At home and in the infant room at daycare she can go barefoot but eventually she will need shoes. This is where problems lie, her feet are 4.5 inches but super skinny so most shoes sized for her foot or just slightly above are still super wide. I found a pair of robeez at marshall's and got her the 6-12 month size and the length is ok but they are pretty wide for her feet hopefully come fall she can wear them with socks and they will stay on. What shoe brands for an beginner walker have you found to be narrow?

Not your question, but both my kids started cruising and pulling up at 7 months and didn't walk until after a year old. I would not buy shoes until my kid was walking as a primary mode of transportation as it is recommended to be barefoot to promote learning to walk. Once she's walking, I would take her to the shoe store and get her actually fitted.
To actually answer your question - Keds run really narrow (like my kid's foot can't even fit in the wide and he wears a regular size shoe). Also be prepared to buy shoes constantly the first year -- we needed a new pair like every 3 months!

in my experience, Keds run crazy narrow, especially the daphne style for girls.

@LBee: I got the robeez for $7 and am not too worried if she never really wears them. I was planning on keeping her barefoot as long as I could and always in the house and wasn't going to buy her shoes until she really needed them which could either be soon or not for months b/c kiddos are the least predictable thing ever.

I don’t know if they’re super narrow but my daughter has narrow feet and could always wear pedipeds in the beginning walker (soft bottom) style. They can be pricey so I bought on sale or used their online outlet. Nice for dressier shoes.

Leather moccasins have worked the best for both my girls at this stage (both soft and hard sole). The leather stretches so they can wear a smaller size longer, but width hasn't really been a problem with them anyway.
This mary jane style seems to work well for narrow feet (see below). They're a little pricey, but they frequently run sales or you can get them off buy/sell/trade groups:

Minnowtonka (totally butchered the sp) was pretty narrow compared to robeez. Also check our the brand Jack & Lily! Loved them as early/first walker shoes.
