If your LO has a nickname, do you use that name exclusively or interchangeably with their given name?
My daughter is Madeleine and we call her Maddie for short... but we both love her given name so much that we still make an effort to call her by that name regularly.

We use her nicknames interchangeably, although I think we use her given name about 75% of the time. When we shorten it I call her Fia and my husband calls her Nona. (her name is Fiona).

When I speak to her I use her full name. When I talk about her to friends I use her nickname. All my friends call her by her nickname.

We only use her nickname. We probably would have named her just her nn but thought it'd be nice if she was older to have options. Some family members call her by her full name but we plan to register her in school as her nn and hope it sticks.

He goes by his full name at daycare and that's how we introduce him, but he has three nicknames that different people use interchangeably (including daycare).
He answers to all of them

We almost always call dd by a shortened version of her first name.
DS has a nickname completely different than his name. In fact, today I asked him "who is _____?" And he pointed to himself! Ha!!
