I do a k-beauty bb cushion with a nude gloss.

I do Bare Minerals powder everyday + blush + mascara.

I am REALLY interested in the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick. It's $$$, but looks really awesome and produces a natural look.

I have become a Beauty Counter junkie lately.

I am making over my day look to be super casual and easy (like 3 mins to complete)...right now its the dew skin moisturizer, cream blusher, concealer pen (when needed for my "I have a 15 mos old" dark circles) and mascara,

I'm also a big fan of white eye liner on the lower waterline for a nice light brighten!

And Laura Mercier magic brightening powder!

Can you tell I look sleep deprived on the norm?!

@littlejoy: I used the BB foundation stick for a few years before switching it up to another BB foundation but still use it every once in a while. I really like it! It does last a while, goes on well and lasts.

I think it starts with your skincare first. I have dry skin and I use the Laniege Water Balm line, and I use the NeoGen Lemon scrub. Everytime I use that, my skins gets brighter and all I use is a Laniege BB cushion, blush and eyeliner and I'm good to go.

If I need more coverage, I love Laura Mercier Candleglow foundation.

I always get compliments on my skin.

@Littlebit7: I forgot to mention since you like PTR products, his CC Cream is my fave so far and I've tried a TON. I have 2 of them in backup in case it ever gets discontinued.
    Also his mega-rich body lotion.
And here is the mask set I got at TJMaxx. Maybe it wasn't a special TJ deal after all.
    Peter Thomas Roth Mask-A-Holic Kit, 5-Piece https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YP54J5S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZxCuzbMFCJD7Z

Also, re: Ole Henriksen - BEST FACE CLOTHS EVER. I have them in my nightstand for the occasional times I get comfy in bed and forgot to wash my face (ie too much wine). They are the only ones that don't leave my face feeling tacky and I have honestly used them as my only nighttime cleanser for days on end (vacation) and my face was still as clean/clear as if I'd washed it with soap and water.

    Everyday no makeup makeup

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation mixed with MAC Strobe Cream
    Mascara - L'Oreal Voluminous
    Hoolah Bronzer - benefit
Revlon lip butter (apply one of the darker shades then wipe off after 5 minutes and you'll have an amazing lip stain)

Bumping this up, I need a rec for an eye shadow stick or crayon that is neutral but not glittery.

I have brown eyes and light olive skin.

    @looch: Sephora's brand makes these!

@SweetiePie: Have you ever heard of Redeeming Beauty Minerals? My sister uses is exclusively for that "I-wake-up-this-beautiful" look. It's all natural, handmade (like mortar and pestle,) and part of the proceeds go to a foundation to stop human trafficking.

    https://redeemingbeautyminerals.com

The creator, Emily, has a really active Facebook page and posts tutorials and stuff.

@SweetiePie: all this glossier talk and now I want to try all the balmdotcom and generation g!

  13. SweetiePie

@Canoli: LOVE them! And I just caved and got the Invisible Shield today! It'll be here by end of the week. I'll report back!

  14. Canoli

    persimmon / 1458 posts

@SweetiePie: well looks like I'll add this to the list of makeup I don't need. I just got a bunch of lip gloss from the friends and family sale at Bare Minerals that will last me forever! I just kept liking more and more colors! I am a lip balm and lip gloss addict!

I've heard great things about their milky jelly cleanser. Will probably add this to my list too!

  15. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@Canoli: love the cleanser! It cleans so much better than I would have expected. I put it on my dry face and massage in, then wet my fingers and massage more then rinse. And I love the smell, very light rose scent.

    wonderful pear / 26210 posts

I bought an eye color crayon that is from Boots No 7 and two from Ulta's line. I had to dig around for the non glittery ones, but I should be set for now.

I also bought a foundation stick to use as a concealer because they were out of my color in the normal formulation I use and I like it a ton better! Happy accident!

No makeup look or when I have 5 mins to get ready

    Brows-kabrow by benefit
Foundation-sometimes I skip or i will use a Mabeline BB cream
Concealer-Mabeline fit me or tarte shape tape depending how bad my circles are.
    Setting powder-Rcma translucent powder
    Mascara-essence princess lash
    Bronzer-physicians formula butter bronzer
Lips-chapstick or gloss depending on my mood.

  18. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@hocuspocus: tell me about the tarte shape tape!

Another product I love that I just used is Vaseline Rosy Lips. I keep it in one of my purses and just found it.

@Canoli: @sweetiepie: ya, all this talk of glossier made me order a few things last week! I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival!

    apricot / 373 posts

@SweetiePie: ohh I love rosy lips too!
Shape tape is amazing stuff! Its full coverage but blends out easily and doesn't look cakey. Total lifesaver when I look like a zombie.

@hocuspocus: I've been using Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer and am totally in love. But a good under eye concealer is something I'm always scouting for.

@SweetiePie: this article makes me realize and I so not a makeup person. Her "no makeup" routine is like 5 times longer than my date night makeup routine.

And on a typical day, I just do Bb cream with spf and Mascara and call it a day.

  24. looch

    wonderful pear / 26210 posts

@SweetiePie: Oh wowza, I just read her skincare article and I realized that there are some products I need to add to my routine, namely a vitamin c serum.

  25. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@Anagram: Yeah I think it's more about achieving a "no makeup" look. So concealing and highlighting and perfecting without looking like you have a full face on.

@looch: Yeah I've really been into adding serums to my routine. I haven't read her skincare article yet, I'll check it out.

I was finally able to get the Ordinary's lightweight serum foundation and it is legendary. Super highly pigmented so a little goes a long way and has excellent but light, natural coverage.

Also I've been obsessed with this eyeshadow stick this summer:

KARADIUM Shining Pearl Smudging Eye Shadow Stick, 1.4 g, #6 Chocolate Brown https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JFYGXEI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_WP3Lzb7HGFBE8

If your Asian or olive skinned it's beautiful - the chocolate brown like a warm champagne color. I typically cannot do any kind of shimmer but this is realllly subtle and more glowy than glittery. I just run the stick haphazardly over my lids all the way to the inner eye and smudge/blend it with my finger and my eyes look brighter. Love love love.

@gingerbebe: I've been wanting to try the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks but this looks like an affordable alternative. Thanks!

@jape14: How many pads come in those pimple packs? I think I am going to order the vitamin c serum, the whitehead treatment and the pimple packs.

My no makeup look consists of a corrector, concealer, liquid base and powder. Once I am done with the concealer, I need very little base, but I have gotten it down to a minute, using either a beauty blender sponge or one of those toothbrush style brushes. Then either a blush stick or powder blush and a little highlighter. I usually leave my eyes bare, but sometimes I'll do a little color with a shadow stick, always looking for options on those. The ones I am currently using are from Ulta and Boots No. 7.

This thread has me curious to try something from Laura Mercier. I've been using MAC for foundation and blush for like a decade - it works fine but could be interesting to try something new...

My no make up look is BB cream by Trish Mcevoy, bronzer on cheeks instead of blush (hoola by benefit), and Trish Mcevoy curling mascara.

I also do moisturizer with spf and hylaluronic serum before make up.

  32. jape14

    pear / 1586 posts

@looch: there are 24 per pack - three different sizes. There's an amazon seller that has them for way cheaper if you buy multiple packs so that's what I do. They are seriously magical!

I know this thread is really old now, but I’m thinking about picking up some Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and was wondering from those who use it, @Silva: @Littlebit7: , whether you use it in place of a normal daytime moisturizer or use it in addition to that, just replacing foundation. Thank you!

  34. HappyBaker

    nectarine / 2242 posts

@periwinklebee: I just bought it a month ago and am admittedly a makeup newbie but I use a regular moisturizer first!

@HappyBaker: Thanks - this is really helpful!

  36. Littlebit7

    nectarine / 2243 posts

@periwinklebee: I use a bit of regular moisturizer and then the tm. I like the regular, not the oil free. I use it when I just want a little something, it def isn't full or even medium coverage. But that with a bit of mascara and I'm done. They also make a smaller travel size...start with that!

  37. sauerkraut

    cherry / 196 posts

@periwinklebee: I use the regular (not oil free) one when I don't want to wear makeup but want a little coverage. I put it on after my moisturizing sunscreen (usually Paula's Choice Redness Relief for dry skin these days)

  38. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

@Littlebit7: @sauerkraut: Thank you, this is super helpful! I didn't know about the travel size, this is great. I feel like part of the reason I've worn the same makeup for so long is just not wanting to be stuck with a big bottle of something I end up not liking. I'm excited to see how the TM works out!

  39. HappyBaker

    nectarine / 2242 posts

@periwinklebee: If you have a Sephora near you they offer a "free" makeover if you spend $50 (which is easy to do when buying new stuff!) I am a super idiot / owned no makeup so I went in and did one and had the woman basically teach me how to do my makeup while also trying out products and figuring out what worked well with my skin. I ended up spending a lot more than $50 but I have a great routine I can actually do now, I highly recommend the service!

  40. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

@HappyBaker: That's awesome, I really need to do this. I didn't know they offered this, but sounds like a good bet for finding something new that works!
