Anyone have a baby who didn't wake for middle of the night feedings? Did that change how they ate during the day - more frequently, larger quantities, etc.?

I can't say from experience (neither of mine STTN until 14 months), but I believe they will eat a little more during the day if they STTN, but not a very noticeable amount.

Mine doesn't STTN either but they should drink more during the day (you might not notice if they're EBF)

Hmmm if I remember right dd just drank more during the day, but it's hard to say because she was drinking more and more just because she was getting bigger too. Then we noticed a dip awhile after starting solids.Well, "solids."

Mine was a good night time sleeper. Never went more then 2 hours in the day without nursing.

My little guy feeds up to a dozen times during the day. He usually feeds on wakeup, then twice before his first nap, 2-3 times between his next two naps then 2-3 times before nursing to sleep for the night.
I know he gets plenty of milk during the day because I have a touch of oversupply and overactive letdown, he's also a chubby wee fellow!

I don't know about quantity but my first fed every two hours for a looong time after she night weaned.
I've had supply issues with my second but she did nurse more frequently when she stopped eating at night.

My daughter STTN 10-12 hours from 11 weeks to 16 weeks, then stopped until nearly a year old. When she started STTN she was nursing around every 2 hours and then constantly for 45-90 min before I put her down at night (already asleep from nursing). By the time she stopped STTN o think the evening cluster feeding had gone away but she still likes to nurse every 2 hours until she was much older.

@Mrs. Champagne: @Ash: Ah. She seems to be every 2-3 hours as of now.

Ds1 sttn 12/13 hours at 11 weeks, he always took at least 5oz at each feeding every 3ish hours during the day... That continued until we added in solids.m, etc. he was always a high intake for milk though even when we transitioned to almond milk after nursing.

C was a rock star sleeper at night, sleeping 8 hours at 5 weeks and then 12 hours by 3.5 months. She ate every 3-4 hours or so during the day, but she was bottle fed so she took pretty large quantities during those feeds. Her bottle before bed was always her biggest

How old? Mine didn't eat between 8 PM-6 AM by about 2.5-3 months old. During the day he ate every 3 hours, and he ate a lot. He'd eat between 4-6 ounces at a time for most midday feedings, and nursed for a good 25-30 minutes when waking up in the morning and before bed (or he'd get a huge pumped bottle before bed). Not sure if that's what you're asking, but that was my experience with my son.

We dropped MOTN feedings except for one dream feed when DH and I go to bed at 11:30. DD kept the same average number of feeds per 24-hour period (6-7 feeds), just did them all during the day. So yes she is now feeding more frequently during the day. She is 5 months old.

@LindsayInNY: I know our girls are the same age so I think how frequently they eat is normal. I think sttn/long stretches at night is completely random, honestly.

@mrsjyw: That's basically her except at a younger age. I don't know exactly how much she gets at each feeding though.
@Charm54: Was she bottle fed formula or milk? Q is basically the same with sleep at night. It's been anywhere from 8-11 hours straight most nights (usually 9-10 I think?).
@ChiCalGoBee: She's 9 1/2 weeks but has pretty much always been like this. Feeds are getting a bit shorter but I don't know if she's getting more efficient or what?
@Ash: I think her STTN is a random fluke... I can't attribute it to anything really?

@LindsayInNY: that's how I feel. I think some babies sleep and some don't.

My second STTN from months 3-5 and had 5-6 feeds during the day, so every 3h.

@LindsayInNY: she was fed both (I EPed and supplemented, she usually got a bottle of formula a day)

My LO started sleeping 10hrs overnight around 11 weeks and it didn't really affect her daytime feedings and she was EBF. She nursed around every 3-4 hrs during the day. At that time I offered both sides...usually fed on one side, burped and offered the other side and burped again.
