What have you sent to daycare for the class to have on your LO's birthday besides cupcakes? We can't send anything home made and it must be peanut free. DS is allergic to milk and I can't find any store bought cupcakes or sweets that don't have milk in the frosting!

@HappyBaker: What about something savory? Like breakfast muffins or even those little dinosaur shaped breakfast potato things? Those are still treats for little kids!

@HappyBaker: we ended up going to Trader Joe's and picking out some little cookies. The kids liked them and the teachers seemed happy about the change of pace! It wasn't an allergy issue so I don't remember the ingredients.
LO also had a friend bring in donuts or donut holes, so that might work?

What does your LO love? I sent fruit to daycare for a treat one time and she was so happy. Oreo's don't have milk in them, either.

We've had cake custom made one year, maybe that's an option... though I imagine a lot of bakeries won't know how to make a cake with no dairy

We had this same problem with our daycare (everything says "may contain nuts") so I ended up sending fruit snacks and the teachers were really happy with it.

Great ideas all, thanks! I think donut holes are a great idea! Our Dunkin Donuts here isn't peanut safe so we never get food there since DD has a peanut allergy, but if I bought the store bought kind in a bag I bet that would be fine. He would LOVE those.

My DD's daycare director suggested fruit popcicles! We got the Red Rocket brand, which are just fruit and veggies without any extra sweeteners, and I know there are several other brands like that. The kids LOVED them!

@HappyBaker: I teach preschool and my favorite new treat to recommend is strawberries & Hershey kisses. But I know Oreos are also nut & milk free.

We also brought in popsicles likes @PurplePeony , and they are always a hit with kids. I like the Outshine fruit bars because the ingredients are simple, and it's the perfect size for little ones. Both of my kids have allergies, and it's difficult to find an allergy free treat that's yummy and isn't expensive to bring in for the class.
A box of Enjoy Life cookies is also a good alternative!
