@toniamandaking: Hi there! We're on our 3rd year here- we love it! It's definitely a change from Ohio, but it's grown on us. We have 2 boys (5 & 3) and we live in Suncrest. I love it up here! You said you're nervous about it...can I answer any questions for you? Where are you moving from?

We're Catholic and my son attends a private school. We're super happy with it and have made many friends- both LDS and non LDS. I was really nervous about it at first, but I've found it to be a non issue for us (although I don't have any experience with kids and the public schools).

I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have. It's definitely a big decision!

@ustechie: Ah, Suncrest! I have looked at houses up there online. I have heard that that drive is difficult and that there is nothing up there so just to get to the store is 15min? Can you tell me your experience with that? We live in Montana and are moving there in the next few months. Depending on when our house sells. My kids are 4, 8 and 11. We are not Catholic and I don't really want my kids to go to a private school so we would go public school.
    Thanks so much for responding!

@toniamandaking: Suncrest is about a 10 minute drive from the valley. The drive is not difficult by any means. We have a restaurant up here that also carries your very basic necessities. We chose Suncrest since it was important to me to be out of the inversion...that stuff is gross.

Also, we have a clubhouse with a gym and some rooms available to rent. There is also an outdoor pool.

We get a substantial amount of snow, so there is that to consider, as well. They do a great job of keeping our roads clear, but good snow tires and a 4 wheel drive vehicle is necessary, IMO.

@ustechie: I am looking at plans in the Edelweiss subdivision. They have a few already built houses ready to move in. Is that a good area?

@toniamandaking: are those the Edge homes up on Suncrest? It's my understanding that they aren't in our HOA, therefore, will not have access to the clubhouse or pool. Other than that, it's essentially just another subdivision in Suncrest.

@ustechie: What about living in Wanship? My son and family are moving there. He has two girls, 5 and 7, and I am concerned.

@dori: Wanship is an extremely small town it looks like, so I don't know if anyone can specifically speak to it. I live in Utah County and while there's a ton of LDS folks, you don't have to be LDS to live here. As long as they know the vocab (ward=local congregation, stake=groups of local congregations) they'll get along fine.
