@Ash: Yaayayayaya!!! SO happy to have you here, woman!!! I didn't know you just got married, too!? We just got married in October! If you don't mind my asking (and if you do, just ignore this), how old are you?

Oh, also, confession time, y'all...I have never changed a diaper in my life...ever...

I have no shame in admitting my age; I am 27 and dh is 31.
As for diaper changing... super super easy. Tip: always cover the little winky when changing a boy. Hahah!

ETA: congrats on being a newlywed! I love being married!

Well I've posted in every November board except this one! I haven't logged-on with my laptop all week...

What does your user name mean?
It's my name and my favorite number (wedding date and also a number my father seems to show me from heaven ALL.THE.TIME.)

    Describe your family?
Right now it's DH and me with our two Boston Terriers while LO bakes!

What do you do for "you" time?
Well I used to have a nice glass of red wine and read...now it's reading minus the wine! Also take long jogs or walks and spend time with DH and extended family

    Fun Fact?
My husband and I met in high school and are more or less high school sweethearts.

Looking forward to sharing this journey with you lovely ladies!

What does your user name mean?
My hubby is a farmer and the term "farm wife" is a job description all on its own.

    Describe your family?
It's me, 24, and Farmer Man, 31, and Deere Boy, 4, and Tractor Girl, 2. We live in a little house on 15 acres in rural North Dakota with 3 dogs that I don't mind, 4 goats that I don't like, and Betsy, *my* cow, who's supposed to calve any day now. Farmer Man and I met at work (on a dairy farm, lol) and have been pretty happily married for 5 years now, with lots of huge changes.

What do you do for "you" time?
Depends. I love working on my novel that shall never, ever see the light of day. Most of my "me" time involves being alone. I guess that makes me introvert. I love long walks with my camera, and, oddly enough, spending all day out in the field on the tractor or the semi is seriously refreshing for me, if I'm more or less alone, squawking 2-way notwithstanding, lol.

    Fun Fact?
Hmmmmmm, what should I shock them with... Almost 4 years ago, Farmer Man and I picked up and moved 1,700 miles from SE PA (where he was born and raised and aaaaallll of his family lives) to SW ND, where we didn't know a soul, and my heart finally found a place to call home. <------cheesy fun fact, lol, but I can't think of much else.

ETA: Oh, HA! Here's a fun fact for you guys- I brew my own kombucha. It's my little hobby. I call my SCOBYs my pets, lol.

@MrsTiz: second pregnancy, hopefully first term baby!

  15. FarmWifeGina

    pear / 1571 posts

@Ash: Sweet! What do you farm? Our property is 15 acres and we just have our animals and garden here, but we rent 160 acres from our boss and Farmer Man is the main employee for our boss who farms 9,000 acres. Small grains, mostly.

  16. MrsTiz

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

    @Ash: ditto!

  17. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@FarmWifeGina: we (as in dh) farm corn and soybeans. And he helps his uncle farm too. But 9000... wooooow! That'd be dh's dream! I love being in the country.

  18. FarmWifeGina

    pear / 1571 posts

@Ash: Yeah, and most of the time it's only Farmer Man and the Boss Man doing all the work over all those acres. It's crazy, but good help is hard to find. I help out seasonally, as often as they have something for me to do.

  19. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@FarmWifeGina: I wasn't raised in the country or on a farm so this is all new to me... I've only been here for 2 years. The only thing I help do is ride in the semi, tractors and combines. Hahahah!

  20. lilteacherbee

    cantaloupe / 6791 posts

@MrsTiz: @Ash: ditto to you both, hoping to have our first LO in Nov!

  21. FarmWifeGina

    pear / 1571 posts

@Ash: HA! Well, I was raised a farm kid, so I know my way around, even if I don't get the chance often. I do miss the days of just riding along with Farmer Man, just us and no kids. Have fun with spring fieldwork coming on! Where are you located, if you don't mind me asking?

  22. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@lilteacherbee: so many Rainbow babies here! Yay!

  23. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@FarmWifeGina: I usually don't help them plant and it looks like I'll be way pregnant during harvest season. Lol! I can't see myself climbing into the combine at 8 mos. Hahah! We're in eastern Iowa.

  24. FarmWifeGina

    pear / 1571 posts

@Ash: Yeah, I don't know what I'll be doing at harvest. If I get called on to run combine or grain cart, you better believe that I'm gonna jump at it! However, at this stage of my life, spring fieldwork involves lots of days of being a single mom and the kids not seeing their daddy for days at a time, unless I take them out to the field, because he leaves before they get up and doesn't get home until way after bedtime. So fun. *sarcasm*

  25. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@FarmWifeGina: I can understand. Being married to a farmer is hard. Farming is just 1 of dh's 4 jobs. Busy busy. I work 1 job - 3 days a week. Lol!

What does your user name mean? Luna = moon and Lucca = light. Also, nerdy stuff! It's a variation of the login I use on different sites.

Describe your family? Just DH and I! It's super cozy. No pets, no previous little kiddos. DH and I first met when I was in elementary school! We've been together since I was in high school and this summer will be our ten year dating anniversary. We just finished our first year of marriage.

What do you do for "you" time? Crochet, ukrainian folk dance, TV, long walks. I'm creative on the job, so "me" time is code word for "brain off downtime".

Fun Fact? I lost 20+ lbs before TTCing! And I also conceived like... the first time we BDed with the intention of trying.

I'm curious about some other things from everyone:

Is this your first pregnancy/baby? 2nd pregnancy, 1st sticky baby!

Will you find out the gender? Definitely!

What kind of birth do you want?Normal vaginal birth at a hospital

Will you go all natural? No, not even considering it! Epi for me lol

Are you planning on breastfeeding? I'm going to try!

Are you going back to work or SAHM? I have to go back to work at ~6 weeks but will be able to take baby with me for a while.

Is this your first pregnancy/baby? 2nd pregnancy, hopefully 1st sticky baby!

Will you find out the gender? Nope. We're team green... as of right now. Things might change!

What kind of birth do you want? I would love a tub birth.

Will you go all natural? That's my plan! I've seen too many epidurals put in... and they freak me out.

Are you planning on breastfeeding? I plan on it but I'm not anti formula if breastfeeding doesn't work.

Are you going back to work or SAHM? Right now I work three 12s a week so I'll probably drop down to two 12s once I go back after mat leave.

  31. FarmWifeGina

    pear / 1571 posts

Is this your first pregnancy/baby? No, 3rd pregnancy, 3rd baby.
Will you find out the gender? This time, most likely. We've been team green the first two times and I told Farmer Man that once we have one if each, if we get pregnant again, I wanna find out the gender and experience it that way too. And we now have one of each and we're pregnant again, so that's what we're planning.
What kind of birth do you want? Physiologically normal vaginal birth at home.
Will you go all natural? Yep. Except for unforeseen circumstances involving transfer and the choice of an epi or a c-section. My first two births have been completely drug-free and I know from experience that I'll beg for someone to put me out of my misery during transition, but I also know from experience that I'll get through it just fine and it'll be totally worth it.
Are you planning on breastfeeding? I'm working on building some more mammary tissue with supplements (I have Insufficient Glandular Tissue) and I'm crossing all my fingers and giving it every chance I can to make it work this time. At least, to make it work better than it has the last 2 times!
Are you going back to work or SAHM? I'm already a SAHM, although I do have a small photography business on the side and I'll probably take a few months break from that. Which won't be a big deal because it'll be winter anyways.

Is this your first pregnancy/baby? Yep!

Will you find out the gender? Oh hell yeah. I'm way too impatient!

What kind of birth do you want? If everything is lookin' good, I'd love to try a waterbirth...

Will you go all natural? I'd love to go into it thinking I'll try. I know SO much can change/be out of my control, so I'm not like, dead-set, 100% "THIS IS HOW IT WILL BE," by any means, but yeah, I'd like to give it a shot!

Are you planning on breastfeeding? Again, yes, I'd absolutely LOVE to and this is something that I'm like, pretty adamant about. If, for whatever reason I'm totally unable to, I wouldn't be against formula.

Are you going back to work or SAHM? Hmm... I don't know yet. That's something we're trying to figure out. I'd LOVE to stay home, but we'll have to see if it'd work financially. I don't think I would be returning to my job I'm at now (long story), so it'll throw an extra stressor in there... We'll see...it'll all work out...right?

How did you guys make that stuff bold?

Will you find out the gender?
    - Absolutely! We're already planning to get an elective ultrasound at 15 weeks if we need to.

What kind of birth do you want?
    - I would like to have a hospital birth, possible at a birth center attached to a hospital.

    Will you go all natural?
    - My plan is to go natural for as long as I can in order to help things progress, but I imagine at some point I'll opt for the epi.

    Are you planning on breastfeeding?
    - I am, but I'm not against supplementing with formula if needed. Also, I'm not sure if my work situation will lend itself to pumping. So if my supply can keep up with just a couple feedings a day I'm planning on sticking with it, but if I can't I'm not going to beat myself up about it.

Are you going back to work or SAHM?
    - Definitely back to work.

    Is this your first pregnancy/baby?
    - 2nd pregnancy- I have a little girl in heaven that we miscarried last July.

Will you find out the gender?
    - Yes!!

What kind of birth do you want?
    - Hospital birth

    Will you go all natural?
    - Nope, not for me!

    Are you planning on breastfeeding?
    - I want to try!

Are you going back to work or SAHM?
    - Going back to work sometime after Christmas break. It's going to be interesting because 3 of our 5 teachers at my school are pregnant and we are all due in November.

Is this your first pregnancy/baby? It is!

Will you find out the gender? Not sure yet. Hemophilia runs in my family and I might be a carrier (my grandmother is) and so I don't know how that will affect things, because if we know we're having a boy vs. girl it will affect how we're treated, I think -- but my husband doesn't want to know. I need to ask the doctor about it.

What kind of birth do you want? Hospital birth, vaginal.

Will you go all natural? I want to! I react badly to anesthetics.

Are you planning on breastfeeding? Hoping I can! My mom and sister had trouble with it.

Are you going back to work or SAHM? We haven't totally figured that out. Daycare here is crappy and will take half my pay away -- but I don't think we can live on my husband's salary alone. I am going to take a full year of leave though (yay Canada!) so we have time to sort it out.

    Is this your first pregnancy/baby?
    Yes!

Will you find out the gender?
I think we probably will. I'm more on the team green side, my husband really wants to find out...I don't know. I suspect that I will cave and we'll find out.

What kind of birth do you want?
    Water birth at the hospital.

    Will you go all natural?
    Yes, barring any unforeseen complications.

    Are you planning on breastfeeding?
    Yes--again, barring any unforeseen complications.

Are you going back to work or SAHM?
No idea yet. I've always wanted to stay at home, but we'll have to wait and see what things are like with my husband's job once we get closer to the birth (it's complicated).

What kind of birth do you want?Normal vaginal birth at a hospital--hopefully unmedicated!
Will you go all natural? I'd like to try!
Are you planning on breastfeeding? yup
Are you going back to work or SAHM? I will go back to finish out the school year, and then I'm thinking part time for the next year. We'll see!
