I used a Boppy pillow for our first LO, and was not a big fan. I'm small chested and felt like it didn't give me any support so I ended up using a few pillows instead.
I'm looking at buying a Brest Friend pillow, but someone suggested a nursing arm pillow, similar to this one:

Anyone use either one and loved or hated it?

Is there a breastfeeding support group near you? We have one where they have every pillow under the sun, and new moms can try them all and see what they like, all while getting a weighted feed and IBCLC advice / help. I feel like every mom/baby pair is different, and needs to find what works for them! Good luck!

I preferred using my My Breast Friend in the first few months when my LO was small and needed the extra height support. Once my LO was bigger I preferred my Boppy. We had a lot of trouble nursing for the first three months and I used my nursing pillows for a long time!!

I am very small-breasted, and with both the Boppy and Brest Friend, I had to fold up a blanket underneath to get the right height. I liked using either and ended up rotating between the two depending on which cover was in the laundry.

@Mrs. Microscope: I believe there is one about 30 minutes from me that I can look into. The trying out of pillows would be amazing!
@ineebee: You still had to fold a blanket underneath? I was hoping the Brest Friend would give me that comfortable height support. But I'm starting to feel like this is an issue the first few weeks anyways, regardless of which pillow you use.

I only breastfed DD for 6 wks, but the breast friend seemed really nice those first few weeks. I liked that it would be buckled and stayed in place.

Loved My Brest friend for the earlier days. Loved that I could clip it around so it doesn't move and I can clip it higher/lower. And loved the more firm surface so babe didn't slump or move around too much. As DDs got older I used this one (got as a gift) - http://a.co/6EamoeM

I used the Brest Friend throughout nursing both my girls. I still use it with my 18 month old. So yeah I'm a fan!!

@Tanjowen: I was always able to strap my brest friend to the right height and angle. I could get it to pretty much any height. It was great for walking around while nursing, too, because it stayed in the same position.

@Tanjowen: I am also small and had zero problems with my Breast friend. Like others said I could walk around while nursing baby and it would stay at the right level.
I was handed down an old hoppy (lot smaller and flatter than the newer boppies) and I didn't want to buy something else. I caved at a couple weeks and told my husband I needed him to get me my breast friend asap!
That being said I personally think it gets annoying to use when the baby gets bigger but feeding is a piece of cake by then so no big deal.

I loved My Brest Friend, especially when DS was really young. I haven't tried the other style of pillow.

I also loved the My Brest Friend, especially the clip aspect. I literally walked around the house with it on! I only nursed until 6 months so I don't have experience with using it on an older baby, but for me it was really useful for those six months. I had also been given a Boppy and I absolutely hated it.

@winter_wonder: @snowjewelz: I totally forgot about the Brest Friend's clip function! Yeah, that was pretty helpful. I think because of that clip, I do like the Brest Friend a teeny bit better.
