@bhbee: that's fun! Two of DH's cousins are expecting (due this month and in May), so if this baby sticks, the cousin group will go from 2 to 5 by Halloween. That's a lot of babies!!!

I had Wondfos left over from my last pregnancy but ran out and have yet to get any. My SO thought I was nuts testing everyday for a good week or two

I'm feeling okay. I'm trying to remain hopeful and positive - it's just hard. The little symptoms I have are not super present at the moment. On one hand it's great not being super sick or anything, but on the other I can help worry about the lack of symptoms. I know not everyone gets morning sickness or whatnot (my friend Mary had none w/both of her pregnancies). So just trying to hang in there

Congrats to all the October '17 moms! I'm an October '16 mom and it's crazy how quickly it goes!

@mybell208: I didn't test today for the first day since my bfp and honestly it was great! No roller coaster of worry. I have one more frer that I won't be able to resist for a dark line but then I'm cutting myself off. I have to keep telling myself that nothing I do is going to change the outcome and only time will tell.

@mybell208: @bhbee: I'm done testing too, except for one more weeks estimator test that I'll use sometime this week now that it should have changed again. It feels good to stop temping and testing!

So we went shopping today and found bibs that say "grandma magnet" and "grandpa's sidekick" so that we can wrap them up and give them to our parents when we share the news next weekend. Super excited to tell our families! I'll be just about 6 weeks by then, depending on which due date I go by.

@Synchronicity What estimator did you use? I tried looking for one but didn't see any

@mybell208: clear blue! They are still selling them in Canada.

  10. mybell208

    coffee bean / 45 posts

@Synchronicity I had one of those back in May; did they stop selling them?

@mybell208: another bee told me they were pulled from the shelves in the states? I haven't looked it up though!

Edit: are you using the reply button to tag someone? I haven't been getting email responses about your comments to me!

First child? Second child, second pregnancy. Tried for 4+ years for first (with multiple fibroid surgeries throughout), then had IVF for my 11 month old daughter. This is my first natural pregnancy, and at age 36!

Any symptoms? A little more tired than normal, trouble sleeping through night and restless legs. I didn't have any morning sickness with my first, only a strong preference for Honey Nut Cheerios.

Who have you told? My sister and sister in law. And of course hubby!

Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Just shock really. I always assumed I'd couldn't get pregnant naturally. Crazy to think I'll have 2 under 2. Hoping for a smooth and safe pregnancy.

Just put prunes on my grocery list. Tmi but any favorite tips for keeping things moving in pregnancy?

  17. azjax

    kiwi / 578 posts

@bhbee: I found that yogurt, apples, and a salad for lunch really helped!

Ugh somebody microwaved cabbage for lunch today, and it is really grossing me out. Barf. #firsttriproblems

@azjax: I have yet to have any real aversions though a few moments of possible pregnancy related feelings. Last night I was sitting on the sofa and out of nowhere I needed a burger, stat. And lately I've been feeling on the verge of nausea but haven't puked or anything.

Does anyone ever get a slight upset stomach if say, you have post nasal drip? That's like the closest I can compare it to haha.

@mybell208: I've been big time gagging when I brush the back of my teeth and tongue! Full on eyes-watering-gagging-but-not-quite-puking. Fun!

In other news.... haha! Went and had 6 tubes of blood taken from me today, so looking forward to seeing my numbers! And then I'm done with appointments until March 14th... a MONTH out! That seems insane.

  20. azjax

    kiwi / 578 posts

@Synchronicity: I had a boatload of blood drawn today, too!

Beta from Saturday was 163 (~14-15DPO), so tomorrow I'll be able to calculate a doubling time from today's draw. Next appointment is March 1 to look for the HB by ultrasound. Assuming I make it that far, I'll see my OB on March 14 to talk about 1st tri screening. Last time we did the NT scan and the MFM specialist was able to (correctly) tell us the gender! This time, I think we might ask about additional genetic screening via Materniti21 or whatever.

  21. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6085 posts

@azjax: that is a great beta number! fx for great doubling!

I'm AMA this time (will be 36 by October) so pretty sure Materniti21 is a given for me (last time they gave me a choice and I chose the NT). Not sure if AMA will mean any other additional testing vs what I've had before.

  22. mybell208

    coffee bean / 45 posts

@Synchronicity: Wil the March apt be your ultrasound appointment? That does seem far away.

  23. Synchronicity

    grapefruit / 4089 posts

@mybell208: no, just intake as it will be my first appt with my midwife. Ultrasounds aren't done routinely here until the nuchal scan between 11-13 weeks I think? And then the anatomy scan around 20 weeks.

Had my first doctors appointment today. Official due date is 10/2 but I'll be having a c-section so good chance of being a September mama. Measuring 10mm crl and 153 heart rate.

I saw our little bug today! Baby's measuring 11.3mm, heartrate's good (though I don't remember the number), and we're right on schedule based on my last period.

    Location: TX

    EDD: 10/13

    First child: No, second

Any symptoms: craving red meat, bloating, gassy, tired, cranky, sore breasts, random sharp pains in my uterus and vagina.

Who have you told: A few relatives and 1 friend

Current thoughts/feelings/fears: If I am having multiples because I already have a bump. lol I am also concerned about my son jumping on me (which he is doing now). I am also concerned because I am not having a ton of symptoms like I had with my son.

  33. azjax

    kiwi / 578 posts

    @sugarbee: @mrsvdv: great news, ladies!
@FancyGem: welcome! My son likes to bounce on me too, so we are going to have to adjust how we play.

  34. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6085 posts

@FancyGem: welcome! I know what you mean about the symptoms, I try to remind myself that every pregnancy is different. but every time I don't feel weird I wonder if it's a bad sign . . . I need to relax!

  35. FancyGem

    clementine / 769 posts

@azjax: My son just turned 5 and is the size of a first grader. lol He was too big to jump on me when I wasn't pregnant. LOL I think he will understand better once he can feel the baby move.

@bhbee: That's what my husband said. I will focus on doing some work and looking for potential baby names to distract me. lol

  36. mybell208

    coffee bean / 45 posts

    @mrsvdv: That's so great!

@bhbee: I have an appointment Tuesday; I'll only be 7 weeks tho so hopefully that's far along enough

@FancyGem: my symptoms are up and down and I'm trying not to freak when they ebb. Hang in there!

  37. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6085 posts

@mybell208: ooh I'm jealous! At 7w it won't look like much but you should be able to see the heartbeat if they do a dating ultrasound

  38. mybell208

    coffee bean / 45 posts

@bhbee: I think that's what we're going to do; look for the heart beat and make sure everything is measuring on track. Of course there's the blood work too

I have my first appointment with my midwife next week. I'm so excited! I have my moments when I am nauseous and do not want to eat. My cravings have been pretty consistent (beef, Mexican food w/beef, tomatoes) . I am very gassy and bloated

  40. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6085 posts

@FancyGem: exciting on appt! I'm so bloated too. Trying to be healthy where I'm not nauseous 24/7 yet but vegetables and salads are not my friend
