Well, I thought we'd sit this month out but as I had an amazing pregnancy dream last night - I told DH we need to try to fit in some BD. So I'm in.
CD: 11
TTC month: 4 post loss
Ovulation day - 25/26 september
POAS date: 11 October
Baby : 1
What's up this month: work. Trying to ignore this trying to conceive craziness. This is a terrible month to get pregnant for us but after my dream last night and coming up on the big 40 birthday - we've decide to keep trying and will deal with whatever happens, if it happens. Everyone tells me not to stress and I'm going to really try hard. It to stress this cycle.
For fun: tomorrow we are going to an Octoberfest event in germany where we live. Apparently it starts getting crazy around 4:00pm which is when our tickets are for - so we'll see some crazy and sick drunk Germans. We have tickets for 2 liters of beer - crazy as I can just handle 1/2 liter of beer before I call it quits. Should be fun.

So this is my first ever OPK (they just arrived in the mail today) - I've resisted for fear I'd let it take over my life. But caved as I wanted to know if I am actually ovulating. I'm Cd 13 - usually have a 27 day cycle. I think this looks pretty close to positive - is that true in your opinion?
We BD'd yesterday and I planned to tonight before seeing this OPK - if you were me, would you also go for tomorrow? Any other days? Would really like to have a good shot at conceiving this cycle.
I should also say this was taken this afternoon with no hold - I drink a lot of fluids and just had to pee when I got home so decided why not try the OPK.

@MrsJBeeG: so this is definately a positive!!! When the test line is darker than the control then you are good to go. My Uss tech told me that after I get a positive that I should bd for three days after, that's how I got my positive the last time. I'm hoping for the same luck this time.
nectarine / 2813 posts
@MrsJBeeG: It's close to positive but not quite. I'd test again later today but you could also be catching the tail end of your surge. I'd BD for the next three days.
clementine / 933 posts
@MrsJBeeG: I agree with @mrskansas: I'd test again later today and tomorrow morning with SMU and see if the test line gets darker. Either way, I'd BD today and plan to at least tomorrow, probably the day after. If your line is darker tonight or tomorrow morning, I'd BD today, tomorrow, the day after, then skip one day, and again Friday. to you!

@chypmunk: @HeartAbandoned: thanks ladies. I took your advice and took another - the second line came up right away and is slightly darker than the control. I'm counting it positive but will test tomorrow morning to see what it looks like.
So BD today and tomorrow for sure and then another night if I can convince DH. That would be 4 days in a row so he might try to whine his way out of the fourth day.

@mrskansas: and thanks to you too. Thought I tagged you. Thanks for your comment on the other page - it really helps me know I'm not alone in this journey.

Ladies - need experienced OPK help. So I believe I ovulate around day 13 as I have a regular 27 day cycle - like clockwork - and then I get strong hormone surges.
We BD'd day 12,13, and 14. Got a positive OPK day 13 (but had just got them in the mail on day 13 so don't know if I would have an earlier positive). Yesterday afternoon I had a clear negative OPK - second line was much lighter than control. So I thought I caught the tail end. But then this morning after my workout and with SMU - I just got a blazing positive OPK - like the second line was twice as dark as the control line.
Sorry for the long message but my question is - should we keep trying in the bedroom? I think my dH is about ready to be done with this sex marathon but he will keep going if I ask him too. He's a good sport like that. I was planning a break tonight and one last session tomorrow night. But perhaps we should try tonight since the second line on the OPK was so dark?
Would really appareciate your advice. Thanks!!!
cherry / 239 posts
@MrsJBeeG: I would continue the marathon for tonight and another 2 days at least just incase you would surge now but ovulate a day later .
clementine / 787 posts
@chypmunk: thanks for the advice. But it makes me sigh. That would be 6 days in a row. I don't know if I can do it. Like I really want a healthy baby but that's a lot of bedroom time. I was ready to skip last night because I was feeling off but told myself we need to. I will definitely get a session in tonight but will have to think hard about the next night. lol can't believe I'm whining about this.
@bhbee: I will. I promise.

Cycle Day: 1
TTC Cycle: month 16
Ovulation Date: ~10/11 (this past cycle on Femara was CD15 so hoping for the same this cycle)
POAS Date: ~10/24, although I probably will a little sooner
Baby #: 1
What's up this month: I am really going to try and not stress as much this month and let this whole ttc process consume my entire life like it has for the past 16 months. I was really heartbroken this morning when AF showed up but I guess everything happens for a reason. This is my second month with Femara so fingers crossed that it works!
For Fun: Any fall plans this month? What's your favorite fall activity? Not much planned for this month, probably a haunted house or two. I love fall, although I live in NY and it has been 85+ degrees all week so it doesn't feel much like fall right now!

@chypmunk: @MamaBear87: @LabradorLover: I might trade you all. It's been a cool September here in Germany - it was 46 degrees this morning when I went out to jog before work. I saw my breath a morning before that. I am dreading winter over here.

@mrskansas: this is our second summer. It's certainly been a crazy adjustment from the beach in ca
nectarine / 2288 posts
@MrsJBeeG: trust me you don't want to trade az summers, our hottest day this year was 121
clementine / 787 posts
@MamaBear87: true. The summers are brutal - I've only been in Phoenix twice - both summer time stops and I thought it was brutal. And my husband and I are NM residents and lived in Las Cruces. And Phoenix is way hotter. But I hate winter and found out winters in germany are bad because it's that wet cold that really seeps into your bones.
