I use my bank's online bill pay service to pay most of our household utilities because it is so convenient . . . well until today. I apparently wasn't paying close enough attention when I entered our $16 water bill a couple of weeks ago because a check to the county water office just cleared for $1,600 putting our account in a negative balance and incurring late fees from the bank!!! My DH just called in a panic. Luckily as soon as I called customer service the lady immediately recognized the issue and told me that it would take 2-3 weeks for my refund to be processed.

Thankful we have some money in savings to cover but now i feel like a complete idiot. I can't be the only one that has done something like this before, right?
