For your first married Christmas, did you get any "First christmas" gifts that your really liked? My little sister got married this year and we won't see her for the holidays, but I'd like to send them something. All I can think of is an ornament. Any other ideas?

@looch: no they got married in March, so they bought anything they still needed or really wanted. I have no prob with the ornaments but I'm guessing both sets of parents will get them for them already.

What about some other holiday decor that doesn't necessarily say First Christmas? If you sent it early enough they could get some use out of it this year and always remember that you sent it for their first married Christmas - maybe a nice wreath or something?

I like the idea of a personalized platter or serving piece. You could do a platter at a paint your own pottery place.

I bought us a really lovely ornament. A fancy jasper porcelain or something.....has our wedding date on it

They actually do the paint your pottery thing themselves so I feel like there is a limit to how much they would want of that but an easy platter is perfect. Or I may look for some nice decor but I feel like her mil may have given them that already.

Might be too late for this... but one of my friends made me a small framed cross stitched thing with our marriage date and names and well wishes. I think she did this for all our friends. It's very sweet. We keep on the mantel of our stairs and see it almost every day.
