One of my girlfriends had tests done which indicated she had this type of anemia, but ultimately did not. I don't know much about it, but I hope you get the information you need. Better yet, I hope you don't have it.

I had this temporarily but not severe enough to need the shots. My doctor put me on high doses of oral B12 for a while and then a daily "normal" dose once she'd confirmed normal levels via bloodwork. Apparently some people can't absorb the oral B12, so if my levels hadn't come up I would have done shots next.
I noticed an almost instantaneous improvement in my fatigue and mental clarity after starting the pills though - it was amazing what a difference they made.
Hope you see similar quick results!

I was anemic while pregnant and had to get B-12 shots. It was no big deal and I had less fatigue after.
