I use the Google Calendar app - I have multiple google calendars (work, personal, family, etc) - I like that I can color code things to easily see what is going on.

Following I have not like anything I've tried

for my iphone i use the calendars by reedle app - i like how u can view color coded events in the month view and see the text info and not just dots... its the only app i found before that does this in month view.. the natural text input is nice also! i still prefer the native calendar app on my ipad though - the larger screen allows for better views than the iphone version.

I use Cozi. Multiple family members can log in, each user is a different color on the calendar, reminders are sent through the app or to a text/email message. If you pay for the gold version you get less adds (or no adds I can't remember) and birthday reminders.
