I'm just curious how everyone else deals with all of the hundreds of photos and movies that we take of our adorable kiddos. Here is my system:
- Immediately upon downloading my camera I try to go through the pictures and movies, add descriptions to any that need descriptions (mostly with the goal of being able to find it in a computer search later), and while I'm going through them I try to edit out red eye, delete any truly bad pictures, and to also put any particularly Great pictures in my "favs" folder (I keep one for each month). Then I upload the folder to Dropbox so my mom/MIL can have access to the pictures. Then, after a few days, I'll move them to their permanent folder. (Still trying to figure out how best to store them digitally.)
- For photos I've done a number of photo books -- Mixbook, MyPublisher, Printerpix, Shutterfly, etc. They're mostly all the same. I keep meaning to start doing the next one in Adobe Elements as 12x12 and then just upload the finished pages to one of the photo book places when there's a good sale, but I havent' had time yet.
- For movies -- this was the big problem for me, as they all just sat there, with the very very occasional movie uploaded to Vimeo for sharing. What I've started doing this week is to put the movies, by month, on my iPad, and edit them into a 5-6 minute movie (which is then uploaded to Vimeo for sharing). So far I've tried iMovie on my iPad (way too hard to get different movie files in there from my Samsung phone or Canon camera) and Pinnacle for iPad (which I really like so far, and I just ordered the desktop component so I can try to polish them there.) (I work from home so I don't want to have to spend hours on my desktop editing movies if I can do it just as well on my iPad.)

What is everyone else's system?
