Cut fruit, cheese, and some kind of carb - like muffins, bagels, or coffee cake. Stuff that works for both moms and kids and is easy to pick st in small bites. If there are little babies, I have puffs or Cheerios as well.

I like to do fruit, hummus and veggies, and mini muffins or little sandwiches (basically the same set up as PinkElephant) but minus the cheese since several of DD's friends have a dairy allergy. I usually have some sort of special drink for the kiddos if their moms let them have stuff like that (hot chocolate made with non-dairy milk or lemonade are big hits) and coffee and potentially mimosas for the mommies. Our playdates tend to run into lunch so I want to make sure that we have something that is substantial enough for a meal.

Banana bread for moms, which is fine for kiddos to eat and isn't super messy if they want some.

For kids, I'd do animal crackers, Goldfish, and neat fruit, like clementines, grapes, or blueberries, or dried fruit. If they need a more substantial snack, then yogurt pouches or GoGurts.

I'm planning a playdate for lo's daycare class next week and was planning on having bagels and cream cheese (it's a morning gathering), cut fruit, cheese cubes, chips and guac, coffee and milk and sugar, water, apple cider

We typically don't host because our house is small. However I generally bring fresh fruit, fresh veggies, fruit snacks, and water. We have a lot of food restrictions and so do most of our friends so we all usually bring our own food.

Something sweet (cookies, brownies, muffins etc -usually homemade) something savoury (cheese muffins is a fave!) and some kind of fruit.
