I’m rolling my eyes really hard at dictating what people can wear to a rehearsal dinner. Unless it’s the wedding and you are a bridesmaid, she shouldn’t be telling you what to wear.

But whatever. What about a light colored skirt? I feel like dresses are harder to fit and more expensive but a light pink skirt to wear with a white top would be more usable.

@Mrs. Tiger: oh and a white base with a light print would be totally fine in my book. But I’m with you on a white dress- when else can you wear that?

I am not saying I agree with what she has asked but I would guess she is expecting a complete white out for photos and a print is not ok.

@Mrs. Tiger: That is so high maintenance and annoying! Old Navy pixie pants are cute and affordable. White pants can be surprisingly versatile.

I actually think a bunch of them are really cute. While I think this is a ridiculous request, if I really liked the bride I’d suck it up and just complain to DH about it.

A light metallic pencil skirt would look cute with a peplum top too. And I agree slim white pants would me more versatile than a white dress.

@Foodnerd81: Did we go to the same wedding? The last one I went to had that request and it was also cocktail attire. Do you know how hard t is to find a nice non-black cocktail dress for a December wedding? She even vetoed navy.

Rent the runway and filter by color
I agree with above pp. dick move to dictate that many clothing requirements. Plus white looks terrible on most people.
If it were me I’d go for cream or ivory. And if you chose separates you could wear into the fall

Personally if I bothered to attend this inconsiderate event I would probably look for a cheap white sundress from Old Navy. ON is my go-to for sundresses. I order a few every year and live in them during the summer. They are cheap and comfortable and I can buy online to save time.

Since you said it's casual, I'd buy a really nice pair of white jeans, wear them with your white top, and call it a day. Jeans may not be what she was looking for, but if she's going to be annoying she can deal, and at least white jeans are something you'll get a lot more use out of!

@Foodnerd81: omg, i'm going to an evening wedding this summer that is "formal cocktail attire" (ie: it is black tie, but she refuses to call it that)....but the bride said strictly no black, red, or white. (I understand no white). Yeah, a formal evening wedding where black is prohibited....wtf?!
Best part, the bride who made these rules attended a relatives wedding a few weeks ago, wearing a bright red dress. So apparently it is ok to wear that to other people's weddings, just not hers... ::eyeroll::

I had only one bridesmaid /maid of honor (small backyard wedding) and I told her she could wear whatever cut of dress she liked, just to do fall colors. On the day of, she showed up in a pastel purple skirt and a black top (literally not a) a dress or b) fall colors). I didn't say a word about it, though. How she expects to get that many people to all comply, I have no idea.
