How was your bleeding post D&C?
I've had very little spotting since my D&C 36 hours ago.
If you bled, was it pretty immediate? Or can I hope it will stay light?

@Crystal: Just popping in to say I'm so glad you were able to get this done at the hospital this weekend. Best wishes for a quick and painless recovery.

@Crystal: no experience to share, just hoping it stays light and goes as easy as possible so you can recover quickly.

@wrkbrk: @Amorini: thank you for the well wishes. I'm much more emotional today, but feeling better physically.
@mamabolt: thanks for sharing. I was hoping it'd stay like this, Dangit! What happened after the heavy day 7 bleeding?

@Crystal: hey, sorry you even have to ask this question.
After my first d&c it was like that - very minimal bleeding, never got too much heavier. Maybe a day or so of light period? It was 2.5 years ago now so it's fuzzy but I remember being surprised how light t was.
My 2nd one was much heavier bleeding, cramping and eventually clots. Found out that the doc had missed some of the tissue so my body was trying to get rid of it still.
So I'd say of the two, minimal bleeding is a good sign!
Hugs to you!

@SweetiePie: thank you, friend.
DH and I keep talking about going to the beach, but I don't want to stress about bleeding everywhere. Maybe I should wait a few more days to see how it goes. Or just not go in a bathing suit.

After the one heavy day it pretty much stopped. Ob said there sometimes you get a surge like that as your hormones drop below the pregnancy levels.

Unfortunately, I had two back to back d&cs (I spiked a high fever 36 hours after the first, went to the ER, diagnosed with "retained product", and got a second - lucky me). Fortunately, I had almost no bleeding, really none, with either, and it stayed that way. I hope you heal soon!

@Crystal: so, I had already planned a weekend in Miami with my husband the day after my d&c. The doc told me without a doubt I could go on the trip but not to use a tampon or swim.
So I got a super thin pad and wore my bikini but left shorts on and just dangled my feet in the pool. The doc did say if I really felt desperate to swim because of the heat I could throw a tampon in for a quick dip but to take it out right away. I didn't though, dangling was enough.
Swimming was the last thing I was desperate for at that time. It was a HARD trip for sure, emotionally, but looking back I'm still glad I went.

@mamabolt: interesting. I hope my levels get back to zero soon.
@yerpie110: that sounds horrible, you poor thing. One is bad enough, I can't even imagine doing it all over again.
@SweetiePie: shorts over is a good idea. I don't really want/need to swim, I just want to lay out on the beach and try to let the ocean breeze heal me.

Mine was very light /non-existent until I got my real period about a month later.

With my D&C, I had very minimal bleeding (just spotting really) - the day of the procedure, it was like a light period, consistent bleeding but light. The next day, it was just the odd bit of brown blood when I wiped; that kept up for another day or two and then it was all done.
I'm so sorry you are going through all this

@Crystal: I had spotting for about two days, not at all what I expected. I expected to have a full on heavy period.

Oh honey I'm so sad to read this. I haven't been on here much lately. Sending you so much love.

@bloved: did you need a pad? I'm wearing one just in case, but I haven't seemed to need it. Did your spotting last the entire month?
@Ree723: thank you for the kind thoughts, I hope my experience is similar to yours!
@babycanuck: was it just the spotting, then nothing? Please remind me, did you have to use clomid to get pregnant?
@MrsMccarthy: thank you, it's been an awful last few days.

@Crystal: no Clomid I had uterine septum surgery and wanted to try for six months before more intervention. After the spotting there was a bit of brown spotting, but not too much, and my cycle started four weeks later.

@babycanuck: yes, thank you, I remember now. Congrats again on your baby.

I bled for a couple weeks and then AF came 6 weeks after the D&C. Not very heavy at all...maybe like day 2 of a period at the start. Hoping this means your body is healing nicely.

@Crystal: I did not need a pad...I just used a liner just in case. Although I just rechecked my fertility friend app and I actually got my "period" 2 weeks later. My doctor swore it was not my period, just a bleed, but I am pretty confident it was a period because my cycle went back to normal after that.

I had hardly anything more than a light bleed straight after.. and then about a week later, had a bit of a heavier bleed. Then just spotting for a good few weeks.
persimmon / 1045 posts
@Crystal: I feel like I was lucky with zero pain and only had light spotting the two days after, then all stopped. But then returned heavily along with cramps 4/5 days post procedure along with a rather heavy clot which freaked me out
But then that all tapered into spotting the next day, and by a week after the d&c it was all gone.
Hope that helps! A warm beach visit would have been my idea of heaven, for sure! Enjoy it!

@simplyfelicity: thank you, I hope so too.
@bloved: I hope mine goes back to normal as quickly.
@jaguar: that doesn't sound too awful... Though I wouldn't mind doing without the heavier bleed. I think Im getting off too easy right now, I keep waiting for it to get worse.
@Nutella: that does help, thank you. And gives me an idea of what to expect, just in case... I wonder if I should save some of my norco just in case.
