DD is 25 months and has been showing major signs of being ready to potty train lately. She's consistently dry for HOURS (I think the sensation of having to pee is weird to her so she's been holding it in), is grabbing herself and says she has to go all the time, and is obsessed with having us change her diaper the instant she gets it wet or dirty.

All of this is great, but whenever we talk about actually sitting on the potty or being a Big Girl she freaks out. We were able to get her on the potty once last weekend and it was a bit of a fight to get her on there. She also gets really emotional about it sometimes and says she has to poop and grabs herself and even starts to act like she's in pain - to the point that we thought she had a UTI and took her to urgent care (she didn't) - but then won't go...hence staying dry for hours.

So, she's ready in some ways, but not in others. I don't want to push her and make it a bad association, but at the same time I don't want to miss the window! Arg, what should we do?
