We started potty training my son at 30 months which was in January. We did the no pants method and had relative success. He was 100% urine potty trained and would save his poops for his nap or overnight diapers. I was fine with this and figured we'd push the poop issue this summer when he as a bit older.
My second child was born in March and we've had a complete regression. He started pooping his pants vs. saving it for a diaper he knew was coming and also started having pee accidents that he didn't have before. She is almost 8 weeks old so we gave it time and waited it out but my son is still struggling.
We went back to no pants earlier this week and he did fine. He would go in the little potty b/c he knew it meant we would come downstairs to dump it / wash hands, but as soon as he was on the main level of the house the accidents started again.
I'm at a loss. He turns 3 on June 19th. He 100% knows when he has to go and knows how to use the potty he is just choosing not to. Would you force the issue or go back to diapers for a while and see if he makes the decision on his own? For what it is worth I took this potty training personality quiz facebook linked me to through pull-ups and they said his personality type tends to train later 3-3.5 and it should be fast once you get there.

Just looking for advice from anyone who has been there before. Our preschool in september prefers potty training but doesn't require it so we're not under a deadline. Thanks in advance!
