@marionberry: I have been wanting to get a doppler and just haven't. Thankfully the last couple days I have been feeling flutter possibly kick feelings so that has been very reassuring!
@lazypanda: I am so looking forward to that. At work last night ( I am a nurse) I tried but nothing yet. So fun that you and your SIL are going to have babies so close together!

Hi Ladies! Just checking in to say hello and hoping everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving week! I already decorated for Christmas, I couldn't hold out any longer! My favorite time of year I remember the last 2 Christmas's I was hoping I would be pregnant but never happened so feeling extra thankful this year!
I have my anatomy scan in a couple hours. I am pretty nervous about it, just hoping everything is growing the way it should. If all is well I cant even imagine how much relief I will have!
How is everyone else doing?

@Mrs.Pinecone316: exciting about the anatomy scan! I'm trying to be patient since mine will be in 17 days! also I love Christmas decorating! I usually have my tree up mid-November but haven't put it up yet since I'm still trying to convince DH that we should get a new tree (we've had ours for 8 years & it was a hand me down from another friend). DH thinks we should keep our current tree & get a new one next year when baby can appreciate it.
Overall, I'm doing great as this belly of mine continues to grow larger! I keep thinking I feel baby kicking but DH thinks it might be wishful thinking on my part since he doesn't feel it. That and he's too scared to press on my belly.
Has anyone gone on a babymoon or thought of going on a babymoon? I'm trying to convince DH that we should go away for a short weekend trip since we won't be able to enjoy doing so in the near future. He's more amenable to this suggestion since he would prefer to save his time for paternity leave.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I feel exactly the same way about being pregnant for Christmas! I'd always dreamed of it, and now it's going to happen!
@lazypanda: I'd thought about a babymoon, but our finances aren't really gonna allow for it. Instead, DH and I are appreciating the small moments (quiet mornings, spontaneous dates) so that when we look back, we'll know that we didn't take them for granted!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I have my decorations up too .. we all were just too excited not to . here's to a good anatomy scan

@ineebee: very sweet & nice! Doesn't it suck that our finances get tied up because of IF? I'd love to go on a nice babymoon like some of my friends have told me they'd gone to (nice weeklong trips). I'm a bit more reserved since I'd rather spend the money on continuing to see my fertility acupuncturist (all out of pocket) to ensure that this baby & pregnancy continues to remain on track.
@Mrs.Pinecone316: did you have your anatomy scan yet? Are you leaning one way or another regarding baby's gender?

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I hope you had a great scan! I'm anxious to hear the sex!
@lazypanda: I love Christmas too! I can't wait to decorate and get our tree this weekend. It's my favorite time of the year. Also, I'd really like a baby moon if we can afford one. It would probably be local but just a night away would be great! We have so much to buy for the twins that we can't afford much else but IF stripped our finances with ds so I totally get that too!

Hi ladies Hope all is well!?! Love this thread and need to check in more often!!!
@Mrs.Pinecone316: Hope your scan went well! Hope to hear if your
@lazypanda: awww you prob feel baby I felt her for awhile before DH could!
We didn't really take a baby moon, but this weekend is DHB last weekend off before her due date, do we are doing a lot together, getting our tree, movies and enjoying us!
How far along is everyone????

@FaithFertility: 20w4d here! A little over half way for twins. That sounds like a perfect way to enjoy time before your lo gets here.

@FaithFertility: such an exciting time for you! my friends said that by the time they were 39 weeks, they were all ready for their babies to get out. I'm 17w1d & I'm wondering when the nesting will begin for me to actually feel comfortable in purchasing items for baby.
@marionberry: yay for being more than halfway! Will you be getting a real tree? I've always had artificial trees & would love a real one. DH had real trees growing up but didn't like it when he was a teenager & had to help clean up the pine needles & sap mess that was left. As for the IF part, I know my treatment has not been as costly as others, but a part of me is planning ahead in case we do need to have the cushion for future TTC. However, your story, as well as a few others gives me hope that this baby will "fix" my IF.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@lazypanda: I grew up in OR (Christmas tree central) so I can't imagine a fake tree. As long as you put towels down underneath your tree stand you'll catch most needles. We've never had an issue with sap. The later you get your tree, the longer it will last and the less your tree will lose needles. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do! As for IF, my $2800 was nothing compared to many others but it was most of our savings at the time. I wish you and all IF'ers the same gift I was given of a second baby without treatment. It really felt like a gift from God to us!

Hi ladies, I haven't checked in for a while but I have been reading along. Work has been really crazy lately with really high billable requirements. We had our anatomy scan last Friday and initially I thought everything was looking good except that baby was being stubborn and they couldn't get all the pics they needed. However, at my appointment yesterday the OB pointed out that our scan showed 2 soft markets for T13/18/21 and that they recommend Verifi or an amnio. I am waiting to hear if Verifi will be covered by our insurance and I go back on Friday for another scan. I am waiting for the day when this pregnancy feels "normal" or at least less worrisome.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I hope your scan went well yesterday!
@lazypanda: I am still only feeling flutters once in a while at 20 weeks and I don't think my DH will be able to feel for a bit yet. I don't think a baby-moon is in the cards for us after our trip in the spring and the $10k+ for our IVF in the summer. We will try and fit in a long weekend somewhere along the way I hope.
@Mrs. Pickles: I am putting mine up this weekend!
@FaithFertility: Sounds like you have a great weekend coming up! Your little one will be here so soon!
@marionberry: The halfway mark...congrats! You are just a few days ahead of me. How are you feeling with 2 in there?
persimmon / 1316 posts
@lazypanda: Yeah it could be fun shopping for a new tree with a lo next year if you can hold out and wait I finally started feeling flutters around 18.5 weeks and now just hitting 20 weeks I am feeling some soft kicks. I didn't believe anything I felt was the baby for awhile but its just sneaks up on you then your sure its movement. I don't think we will do a babymoon, maybe we will do a night or two away someplace semi close for our anniversary after the new year. But as @mrswin: said, after spending all that $$$ on IVF we are trying to build our savings back up to buy a house so a bigger babymoon probably isn't in the cards for us.
@ineebee: It is so special huh? Last Christmas eve I had just started AF again and we decided to move to IVF and now this Xmas eve I will be exactly 24 weeks. So much can happen in 1 year!
@marionberry: I am all about real trees to since I grew up with them but my DH grew up in OR too and they cut their own tree down every year from a forest and I did that a couple years ago and wow was that a lot of work!! It made my Christmas tree lots I go to look super weak haha.
@mrswin: I am so sorry to hear that, that must be so stressful. Just try to keep remembering how many people have these soft markers and everything turns out completely fine and normal when they do further testing or when the baby is born. Did you do genetics testing/blood work before this? I am sure your insurance will cover it, hoping it all happens quickly though so you can have some piece of mind soon
So update for you all on my anatomy scan. It went really well but was really short! Like maybe 5, 10 min max. Everything I heard online was how long everyones way. But the tech went through every system got pics of it all, hopefully it was thorough enough! We know the gender and are doing a little reveal with the family on thanksgiving and friends on sunday! Can't wait to share with you ladies after that
pomelo / 5041 posts
@mrswin: I'm sorry to hear about the markers. If it makes you feel better, my friend who is currently pregnant also go two t18 markers on her anatomy scan, did the verifi test and it came back with no issue. Praying yours is the same. AFM, I feel good so far but I'm definitely much bigger this time and I fear what it's going to be like as I get close to the end.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Glad to hear your anatomy scan went so well! I'm eager to find out. We cut a tree down last year and we are not doing that again - you're right, it's hard! I'm happy to have someone do it for me (and sometimes they'll even deliver to your house).

@mrswin: sending lots of great positive thoughts that the verifi test is covered by insurance & yields positive news!
@Mrs.Pinecone316: happy to hear the scan went well for you! Have a wonderful reveal with your family & friends this weekend!

@marionberry: @Mrs.Pinecone316: Thanks, I am trying to remember that the odds are generally in our favour and it won't change anything for us, this is our baby and we are excited to become a family of 3 in April
@Mrs.Pinecone316: The OB's office called late this afternoon to let me know that our provincial insurance will cover the test. I am scheduled for a blood draw on Friday, hopefully we will have the results in 7-10 days. We did the NT scan and blood work and it was all good, very low risk. Can't wait to hear what you are having!

@mrswin: That's great that that can get you in early! Hopefully it turns out to be nothing at all!
We just finished up 5 days in London and are heading to Paris today. Yesterday I started coming down with a cold - figures. I'm trying to drink a lot of water but, unfortunately, extra test isn't really an option right now. I did have some Emergen-C. I know a lot of people said not to but, honestly, if vitamins are the worst I'm putting in my body (versus food, wine, etc.) then I'm not too worried. I just hope to shake this soon! I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow and we managed to stay with friends in London and not tell them either!

@mrswin: I hope your blood draw & scan on Friday went well.
@LindsayInNY: amazing that you were able to hide it from the friends you were staying with! Hope you had a great time there.
@FaithFertility: how many more days before you LO arrives?
DH & I finally bought a new king sized bed & mattress today! We'll have it in a few weeks & I'm pretty excited since we've had our full sized bed for 7 going on 8 years now! Our bed will go in the nursery for me to sleep with baby during the weekdays while DH will stay in our room when he goes back to work. I convinced DH that a king sized bed is much needed so he won't have to help me out of bed in the mornings as the belly gets bigger. Baby can also co-sleep with us when we're both on leave and on weekends when DH returns to work.

Hey Everyone! Hope you all had a great holiday weekend. We had the best time announcing to family and friends that we are having a GIRL!! We are so excited, pretty much everyone including us thought we were having a boy so it was an amazing surprise and we couldn't be happier!
@lazypanda: Yay for a bigger bed! We went from a full to a queen a few months ago and it was amazing. I would have loved king but our bed doesn't hold one that big.
@LindsayInNY: Hope your feeling better now, I had a cold a few weeks ago and it was pretty miserable.
@FaithFertility: wow you are in the home stretch! So exciting:)
@mrswin: Praying your results come back quickly and that everything is totally normal!

Thanks for all the and support ladies, I truly appreciate it I had a good weekend with my SO getting our Christmas decorations up, doing a little bit of shopping and baking almost 200 cookies for the two different exchanges I am participating in next week. It has been nice to have a distraction from everything else that is going on. We should have the blood test results in 7-10 business day...
@LindsayInNY: I hope you are enjoying your trip and are feeling better.
@FaithFertility: Thanks for the prayers. I can't believe how close you are to meeting your little one!
@lazypanda: They got the pictures they needed on Friday and they took the blood they needed. BTW, I am sooooo jealous that you got a king size bed, we can't fit one in our condo but you better believe that as soon as we buy a house that will be my first purchase!
@Mrs.Pinecone316: Thanks! Congrats on baby that is so exciting! My gut says that I am having a girl but I am prepared to be wrong Did you do something special to announce?
persimmon / 1316 posts
@mrswin: @lazypanda: My husband and I did the balloon in a box reveal with just us too in a really pretty special place to us. My husband makes videos for a living so we tend to film a lot of important stuff so we have that on film and he made a cute little video of that. Really special to have and look back on and it was great to show that video so everyone could see us finding out and see our reactions.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Yay for a girl!!!!! So exciting!!!!! Christmas time is my favorite as well!!
@mrswin: Thinking good thoughts for your little one and your blood test. I'm sure everything is just fine!!!!!!
I'm so behind here. We moved into our new house two weeks ago and I'm finally starting to feel semi-comfortable here at home and adjusting and unpacking, etc. It's been so stressful trying to get acclimated and take care of my teething two-year old. I need a vacation!!! lol
Our anatomy scan is in two days. Excited to see our baby!!

Baby girl looked great at the scan today! However, the perinatal doctor informed us that I'm at a high risk for placenta accrete and once she explained it (and I've since googled it at home) I'm terrified. I hope I don't get it. I will have to go back in one month and monthly after for monitoring. Crossing fingers I don't get it!!!

Joining in. I'm pregnant after IF. This is my second go around with IF and pregnancy afterwards. My 22 month old was conceived with IUiI and this new baby was also an IUI baby.
kiwi / 636 posts
@Jenn23: yay for the baby girl. I hope the monthly monitoring will show that you don't develop placenta accrete.
@Mrs.Pinecone316: awesome reveal! I'd love to be able to do that but I'm too excited to know & will probably inadvertently blurt the news before we even have a chance to do a reveal with family & friends.
@kayakgirl73: congratulations & welcome! I'm so glad to see more IF ladies joining!
I'm getting more excited the closer we get to the halfway mark. A part of me is trying to let go of the idea of twins, but it's difficult as I am getting a lot of shocked looks from others who think I must be 7 months or later based on belly size! One more week till we find out & really see if there's one or two in there for our anatomy scan!
persimmon / 1085 posts
@lazypanda: Thanks!! I'm trying not to think about it, but it is hard. I'm terrified of developing this placenta problem. That's great you have your scan in a week and will find out if it is one or two in there!!!! You must be so anxious!
@mrswin: Thinking of you and hoping you get good news with the results this week!!!
nectarine / 2433 posts
@Mrs.Pinecone316: Such a cute reveal and it sounds like so much fun!
@Jenn23: Thanks, hopefully my results will be in by the end of the week. Speaking of placentas I just had a separate scan this morning for a full placenta study which my doctor does between 22 and 23 weeks. Apparently, there is some indication that IVF patients are at higher risk for placenta issues generally. How did the doctor diagnose the accreta? Will they do a higher level ultrasound to take a full look at the placenta?
@kayakgirl73: Congrats and welcome!
@lazypanda: Hahaha everyone seems to have an opinion on the belly size. I get non-stop comments about how small I am, why don't I eat more, etc..... As it turns out the baby likes to lay on its stomach facing my spine which means that it hides and as a result my bump isn't terribly pronounced. Good lock with your AS, it was so fun to see our little one at that appointment, so much detail and totally looking like a baby
