@FaithFertility: @owlteach: @Happygal: @FliegepilzHut: @lazypanda: @LindsayInNY: @marionberry: @Sunshine1810: Thanks for sending your good thoughts. We got home from the hospital late last night and I am on the road for work this morning. It seems that I overdid it yesterday. I got checked out last night and the baby looked good and had a strong heartbeat. They couldn't find where the spotting was coming from but it tapered off during the time they were monitoring me. I don't think I have ever been more freaked out in my life.

@mrswin: So glad to hear everything is OK! That must have been scary!!
Thanks, everyone! Feels awesome to know it is a little girl in there!! Still super shocked, though. I really thought it was going to be another boy!!! I am not a girly girl at all. I don't do ruffles, lots of pink, etc. So this will be interesting!

@Jenn23: Congrats on the little lady!! So very exciting. My DH and I are debating if we should go this weekend to a clinic that does gender ultrasounds. We are getting ancy to find out!
@mrswin: So so scary! So happy and relieved to see your update. Must have been nice getting an extra peak at your lo though. When are you finding out the gender? I can't remember but are you team green?

@Mrs.Pinecone316: we did that with our first, and I highly recommend it. I think we didn't go until 17 weeks though. Our state doesn't allow for it anymore, though. Now you must have a doctor's order for any ultrasound anywhere.

@Sunshine1810: @FliegepilzHut: @Happygal: If taking it easy means a business trip to a city with a shooter on the loose, then I took it easy yesterday!
@Jenn23: It was scary because at 15 weeks I really thought that I had passed the point of something like this happening. A little girl will be so much fun, how does your son feel about a sister?
@lazypanda: @FaithFertility: Thanks
@Mrs.Pinecone316: It was nice to see LO again and as an added benefit my SO got to see the LO since he wasn't there for the NT scan. We are committed to staying team green so I have many more weeks before I find out

If you were treating with a RE, when did you have your first ultrasound and what did you see? If my betas are good today, they were going to schedule one for next week. DH was out of work with some doctor's appointments for a neck issue and only has 1 sick day left for the year. My RE isn't too convenient for him to come without being late to work, but my normal ob/gyn location is better. He wants to wait until a "good" ultrasound (within 2014 because he'll get more days after January 1). I thought a 5-6 week ultrasound wouldn't show much so is it best for him to wait until I'm further along?

@LindsayInNY: I had my first u/s at under 6 weeks and we just saw the gestational sac. Some people see the yolk sac and fetal pole before 6 weeks. Most likely you won't see a heart beat until you're in your 6th week going on 7ish.

@Sunshine1810: Okay, that's what I was thinking. So it will show the existence of a LO but that's about it. When is a good time for DH to come (heart beat time?)?
pear / 1556 posts
@LindsayInNY: I have another u/s on Monday and I'm really hoping I see more than I did at our last one. The last one really freaked me out. Most of my friends saw a heart beat when they were in between 6-7 weeks, some not until they hit 7 though. I think your betas may have something to do with that though too. My first beta was really low (18 at 7dp5dt which is equal to 12dpo). It did end up doubling or more than doubling for each beta after that (they tested me 5 times after my initial beta). If you started off with a higher beta, you will probably see more than I did at your first u/s.

@Sunshine1810: Mine is scheduled for Monday too! I'll be 5w3d then so I'm expecting a small blob? I hope they can print me something though!!

@Sunshine1810: I didn't even know their machine could do such a thing! Maybe I'm in a different room than usual. I guess I'll find out soon enough!!

@LindsayInNY: I think they all do it. I'm sure they can print for you! Good luck!

@Sunshine1810: @LindsayInNY: good luck with your scans today! I hope the both of you are able to get some great images!

No take home images but all looked good! Nice little sac where it was suppose to be I go back for another u/s in two weeks - the "good one" lol. Didn't ask the doctor about spin classes but not sure they're even worth doing right now so I'll keep waiting.

@LindsayInNY: Good luck today

Well unfortunately today wasn't good for me. It's definitely a blighted ovum. The sac doubled in size but it's still empty. Deep down I was pretty sure it would be since I think my hcg was around 5,000 at my last ultrasound, so we should have seen something more than the sac. It still hurts to hear though! I saw my RE's partner today. He wants me to see if I miscarry naturally once I stop the progesterone. I hope my symptoms start to go soon too though, the heartburn and nausea have been awful. Thank you all for being so supportive! Hopefully I'll be back here soon enough!

@Sunshine1810: I'm so sorry lady. Take care of yourself and let us know how we can support you. I hope your symptoms subside soon..
